This is like a summary chapter of like the next few months

John finished his first year of college while dating Charles.

At first, Charles was sweet and nice. John really loved their relationship.

Then, Charles started to change. He would yell at John and go through his phone.

Once, he got drunk and hit him. He apologized the first time but then it became a normal thing when John made him mad.

He told John he was 'too skinny' and that he didn't need to eat so much.

He also made John quit his job. He said he didn't want everyone looking at him.

John listened and did all Charles said, just wanting to please him.

He still lived on campus, not with Charles, which pissed Charles off sometimes.

John desperately missed Alexander. Charles forced John to block Alexander on every social media platform and on his phone number.

Sometimes, when John was alone in his room, he would cry in one of Alexander's hoodies he still had.

Lafayette knew something was wrong. He knew John and he knew when John was acting weird. He had been acting weird since about a month into his and Lee's relationship.

He was hella worried but anytime he tried to talk about it, John would change the subject.

Alexander was extremely depressed. He was doing terrible ever since the break up. He only got worse when he saw John post about another boyfriend on Instagram. Then even worse when he blocked him.

He cut Maria out. He couldn't stand to look at her without feeling miserable and guilty.

During the summer, he flew home. He stayed with his mother. They both got terribly sick.

Alexander got better but his mother quickly passed.

Of course, this hit Alexander hard and only made everything worse.

He sobbed all day and night for a while until he eventually pulled himself together.

Lafayette and Hercules were good friends to him. They both were in South Carolina for the summer too and helped him with everything.

One time, during the summer, John called Lafayette, sobbing his eyes out.

"Charles won't let me go to see mom on her birthday!" He sobbed in the phone to Lafayette.

That made Lafayette angry. It just made his hatred for the two's relationship stronger.

"John... you need to leave him." Lafayette would plead over and over again every time something happened with the two.

"But I can't! He loves me!" Would be John's reply every single time.

It was like Charles had John on a leash.

It was like he controlled him.

And Lafayette hated it.
