John stayed with Lafayette until Thursday. He finally got himself together but now he had to fly to South Carolina.

He knew if his mother were still there, she would know just what to say.

He sighed and hugged Lafayette tightly for a moment. He wasn't crying right then but he knew he would breakdown if there was a mention of Alexander.

"Have fun, mon ami. Text me if you need anything." He said as he let go. John nodded. "I will..." he mumbled quietly, grabbing his bags and leaving.

He went to the airport and boarded his plane, sleeping as soon as the plane was fully in the air.

He woke up to the seatbelt sound going off, sighing and putting it on.

Soon, they landed in South Carolina. John rented a car for the next two days. He went to a hotel and rented a room for the next few days.

He went to sleep. The next morning was the anniversary of his mothers death so he got up extra early to go see her.

He went to her grave around 8 in the morning, sitting down beside her grave stone.

He talked to her for hours before someone ran up to him, causing him to fall down.

John immediately looked who it was and gasped, hugging them tightly.

"You're back!" Martha cheered in John's arms, smiling a bit.

John frowned a bit, knowing he wasn't back. "Hey, baby. I miss you." He said, seeing James and little Henry walking over to the two.

"I miss you so, so, so much!" Martha said, not letting go of John.

James and Henry made it up to them. "Is dad with you?" John asked quietly, still on the ground with Martha.

James shook his head. "No, I drove here since he said he needed to work." He mumbled.

John nodded before pulling Martha off. "Just a second, baby." He whispered, going up to Henry and hugging him tightly.

He didn't even get a chance to say goodbye to him.

Henry hugged back, almost the same height as John now.

They didn't say anything, just hugged for a while before letting go.

The four chatted for a while and talked to their mother. "Can I please talk to John alone?" James asked, standing up.

Martha and Henry nodded. They both went and gave John a long hug. "I love you and I miss you," He said to them both.

"I love and miss you too." They both said before Henry walked Martha to the car.

John stood next to James, in front of his mothers grave. "It's so hard without both of you..." he mumbled, meaning John and Eleanor.

John frowned. "You've made it this far. I'm sure you'll be alright."

James shook his head. "I didn't think it would be so hard- I mean... I have to stay on top of my studies, have a social life, clean the house, cook, and watch both of them. I don't see how you did it." He said, looking down.

John sighed. "It is hard but you've been doing it for ten months. They both seem to be doing well. You're fifteen. You still have to live. You deserve to." He replied.

James went quiet for a minute. "Things haven't been anywhere near the same since you left. Martha is a lot quieter at home and acts up at school. And Henry has just given up. I know I'm not much older than him but I don't think he gets the situation much. He's failing school. They say if his grades don't get up, he's going to have to repeat seventh grade." He told, biting his lips.

"Just talk with them. Don't get angry with them and don't yell. You've got to make them feel at home. Help them understand. Just treat them like how you want. That's all you can do." John instructed.

"It's hard to make it seem like a home." James mumbled.

"How so?"

"Because it's just a house. It hasn't been a home since you left."
