Poetry doesn't need to rhyme
In fact, that takes too much time
Wasting our lives with pen and ink
Trying our absolute best to think

What if my poetry isn't that good?
I'll spent my nights trying again, as I should
Because poetry is for every human being
To express how they feel, and what they are seeing

Poetry doesn't need to be masked
Leaving you with questions, you would have asked
Being straightforward is fine, even great
Stopping you from reading a poem for three hours straight

The next time you ask yourself
Is my poem okay?
Simply nod your head
And carry on with your day
