Tina yawned, burying her face in Newt's chest to hide it.
"I should really go to bed," she muttered. "Ice-skating is fun, but it's really tiring." It was the third time she had said she wanted to go to bed but she still didn't move.
Newt ran his fingers through her hair. "It is," he agreed. "I think I'd like to sleep too."
He shifted, moving Tina off of him and getting off of the couch. She groaned in protest and he scooped her up.
"Bedtime," he declared, carrying her across the room and setting her in her doorway.
Tina laughed and he planted a kiss on her forehead. She returned a brief kiss.
"Good night," she murmured before vanishing into her room.
"Good night," he called after her. He moved into his room and changed before climbing into bed. He was asleep a few minutes later.
He didn't know how much time passed before he was woken by a scream ripping through the apartment.

Tina scrambled to her feet and stood on the metal chair she had just been sitting in. She looked around frantically, unsure of where she was. A grey potion was rising around her. Newt stood the platform, separated from her by several feet of grey liquid."Mr. Scamander!" she called frantically.
She wasn't sure why she had used his last name but he didn't seem to notice. She watched him glance around. "Now, don't panic," he said.
Tina stared at him, annoyance building inside her. She didn't know what was happening but she could see she was about to die and all he was doing was giving useless advice. "What do you suggest I do instead?" she snapped.
Newt looked up. She realized that a green and blue creature was flying around her head. He whistled and the creature changed direction so that it would fly right above the potion in front of Tina on every pass. "Jump."
Tina looked at the swooping creature. She was shocked. "Are you crazy?" she stammered.
"Jump on him," Newt urged, watching as the creature flew around her head. She glanced at it again. Newt looked back at her. "Tina, listen to me. I'll catch you. . . . Tina . . ."
Tina looked down at the chair below her. A hole was burning through the bottom of it. She shifted her feet away and looked back up at Newt.
"I'll catch you," he insisted. "I've got you, Tina." He looked at her and Tina knew she could trust him.
"Go!" he shouted.
Tina jumped. Her foot landed on the creature's back and she felt Newt's strong hands grab onto her arms. A moment later, she felt solid ground beneath her feet. Newt pulled her away from the potion, turning so that his back was to the pool. But he was too close to it. The heel of his boot slipped over the edge and he toppled backward into the liquid.
She rushed forward, kneeling by the potion and tried to scream his name. But no sound came out and Newt was gone. A scream ripped from her lungs.
____
Newt lept out of bed and snatched his wand off of his bedside table. He shoved his door open and bolted across to Tina's, shoving it open as well. The tip of his wand lit up and he tossed it onto her bedside table before sitting on the edge of her bed.
Tina was thrashing about uncontrollably, whimpering, trying to speak. She was sobbing in her sleep, tears streaming down her cheeks, glinting in the dim light.
