Note:
The poems with songs/pictures attached were inspired by those things.
This book was not fully edited.

dedication:
this is to the survivors, the victims who decided to move on and thrive from the happenings of the worst. this is to the ones who didn't let their situation become who they are, but one of the reasons why they're so strong.
you inspire me, thank you.

author's note (2019):
every year, i write a new poetry book. you must already know this since i talked about it last time. but this book is different, it is the start of something new.
as i begin the first year of high school, i worry about what's to come. but with every word written in this book, i feel like i'm documenting an experience that's worth talking about. maybe this will reach eighth graders, maybe this will reach adults who somehow relate to freshmen issues. but just like every single book it all comes to one thing:
did it reach you?
did it reach you high enough to get to dawn?
i hope it did.

another author's note (2020):
the poems in this book have been written and picked out as things i was proud of in that time.

i didn't realize it at the moment, but i was moving on from a very difficult time in my life, which is why i didn't talk about the big changes of growing up and getting used to a new school. i do hope that the changes and difficulties are relatable to those reading.

thank you for reading my book,
once again i do hope this book reaches you
in some sort of matter.
