Third pov
The weather was almost unbearably hot and Phoenix cursed her luck as she worked on an old toyota. Currently she was the only one in Tej's garage since the others had things they needed to do but they still needed someone there for eventual customers. Just as she'd opened an old man with this really old ratty car had came on asking if she could fix the engine.
The sound of a car outside made her drop the wrench she was holding. "God damn it!" She cursed. With a sigh she dried her hands on a towel and headed out to see the new potential client. The man outside was gorgeous to say the least and the car he had was a real beauty. "Hello, do you need anything?" He looked her up and down. "Yes, I'm wondering if you could take a look at one of my cars." Phoenix shrugged. "Sure, bring it by and i can take a look, mr..?"
Carter smirked. "Mr Verone. And you?" He took pleasure in her surprised expression. She composed herself. "Phoenix, Phoenix Cortez." Carter took her hand as if to shake it but instead kissed the back of her hand. A bright blush spread along her neck and he chuckled. "I will be back in a few days with the car Corazon." He purred before getting back into the car, leaving a speechless Phoenix to wonder what the hell just happened.
Phoenix pov
What the hell was that? Did Carter Verone, the crime lord? I shake my head and walk back inside. It must be the heat getting to me.... I hope. Tej is going to looove this.
Time skip
"Hold up! Carter Verone was here?" Tej jaw was almost on the floor. "What did he want?" Suki looked mostly curious. "He asked if i can take a look at one of his cars."
"And you said?" I shrug and take a drink from the fridge. "I said yes. He said he'll come back later in the week. And besides i had already said yes before he introduced himself, i don't think he would've appreciated me suddenly changing my answer, do you?" Suki shook her head. "Girl, you're a trouble magnet. At least be careful." She gives me a one armed hug. "I will."
I walk back to my apartment wondering how the hell Carter Verone found out about me. I mean, he's gotta have personal mechanics, right?
