Third pov
Carter's house was bigger than Phoenix had expected and she looked around as she was led to the pool. Someone had set up a table with different mouthwatering breakfast items.
"Take what you want." Carter was already sat by the table and by his plate she could tell he'd been enjoying his breakfast.
She took a few strawberries. "What was it you wanted to talk to me about?"
"I have another offer for you."
Phoenix opened her mouth to object but he held a hand up.
"Listen to me before you turn me away. I have a driving job that i need three people for, i want one of them to be you."
Phoenix made a face. "And who would the others be?"
"I'm gathering drivers to who's fit for the job." He took a sip of his coffee. "The job should be about two months from now."
Phoenix ate some pancakes. "You gonna kill me after if i do the job?"
Carter laughed. "No. I already told you i won't kill you. Will you take the job?"
"What is the job about?"
"I have a few bags that need pick up and to have them driven to me."
Phoenix could guess what kind of bags it was. Still she shrugged. "Ask me again in a week."
