Being in love with someone would be more convenient for Kazuha, if Heiji wasn't a ghost.

Heiji x Kazuha

Warning: grammar mistakes

This piece is inspired by the Mediator series written by Meg Cabot. One of my favourite ones! Susannah and Jesse kinda remind me of Kazuha and Heiji.

Kunisue Teruaki is the guy from the chapters 693-695 / the episodes 573-574, who told Conan about his crush on Kazuha and wasn't thrilled to find out that she liked Heiji.

Kazuha hastily ran down the street while being cautious about the slick way caused by the heavy rain. The last thing she wanted was to slip because of some puddles and break her limbs.

It had been a while since she ran this fast. The last time was when she tried to get rid of Kunisue Teruaki and now, nothing had changed. Except that his last words made her storm off from his house and heading straight back to her own.

She knew that Kunisue couldn't reach her house this fast, but she still ran as if her life depended on it. When she finally saw the familiar building in front of her, Kazuha smiled and accelerated her steps.

Kazuha halted at the front of the huge door and tried to regain her breath. She didn't want to enter the house in this state and her father asking questions with his suspicious stare. Especially since her outer appearance isn't going to help her.

The wind was hollering loudly and the rain hadn't stopped and kept wetting her clothes. Just how fast could the weather change? When she left the house two hours ago, the sky was as blue as Curacao and the sun was shining happily. But it did match her current mood though.

When Kazuha finally managed to breathe properly and was sure her face had regained its original colour, she opened the front door and yelled: "I'm home!"

Her fathers head immediately popped out from the kitchen. His welcoming face quickly changed into a stern one.

"Zuha! What are you already doing here! And more importantly, were you just outside during this heavy storm?"

"In my defense, the sun was shining when I left the house."

"What kind of reasoning is this? The thunderstorm was announced several days ago!"

"Maybe the warnings haven't reached me", she replied with a deadpan face, hoping that her father would finally head back to the kitchen and leave her alone.

Said person touched his temple and murmured words, which Kazuha couldn't understand, before finally letting her go.

"I don't want you to get sick. So just change your clothes and don't forget to come down for dinner!"

Yeah", she nodded in impatience. When her father's head disappeared, Kazuha sighed in relief and hastily ran towards her room.

Her mind was filled with one thought, when she entered it. Kazuha's eyes searched for the familiar figure, who always gave her a warm and fuzzy feeling when she was thinking about him.

"What the hell Kazuha, what happened to you?"

She heard the words just before someone was materialising next to her. Within seconds, she could see Heiji's worried stare.

In his usual attire — a dark blue kyudo-gi and a hakama in the same colour and shining as always. Heiji has told her that he practised kendo and he used to wear these kind of clothes all the time. He moves his bare feet in a nervous manner while he repeated his question.
