Heiji receives an invitation to Kazuha's wedding.

Warnings: grammar mistakes, swearing, angst.

Again a Heiji and Kazuha-centric chapter, but this time: angst ╮( ˘_˘ )╭

Heiji didn't expect to hear from her at all.

"Look, what you got!" Kudou threw a letter on Heiji's lap. "I think its from Touyama."

Heiji was laying on the sofa, seconds away from falling asleep, when his best friend and roommate came home from work, holding several letters in his hand. Judging by the outside, the white letter looked like it contained information Heiji wouldn't like to read.

He stared at the letter in confusion. Why would she write him one in the first place, after all the mess that happened between them? Two years had passed and he still became nervous when thinking about her.

His hands became shaky when he finally grabbed the letter and opened it.

He prepared himself for the worst, but the words his eyes scanned exceeded his expectations in a way more negative way.

"You've been invited to the wedding of Touyama Kazuha and Teruaki Kunisue on the fourth may. Please respond as soon as possible and let us know is you can attend to this magical day and of you're getting accompanied by someone.

Kazuha Touyama and Kunisue Teruaki

"Wow", Kudou breathed out, making Heiji jump. He read over Heiji's shoulder and slowly got up, a thoughtful expression on his face. "They're moving kind of fast, don't you think?"

Heiji didn't answer. He stared at the invitation without blinking his eye, noticed how the dark red words began to blur under his gaze and several thoughts were flooding on his mind.

So Kazuha was getting married. To someone he didn't know. But well it wasn't like they regularly talk, especially since they don't even follow each other on social media anymore and he barely saw her in real life.

That's why this whole situation caught him off guard. And whenever Kudou did bring her up, be it after Mouri had seen her or just on a whim, Heiji was the one who quickly called the conversation off.

Even though both Kazuha and Heiji did state that would definitely remain friends, they also knew that after the messy relationship they had and even a messier breakup, it wouldn't be easy.

"Hattori, I know you're hesitant about talking about Touyama, but it's time you face this." Kudou made himself comfortable next to him on the sofa, his expression becoming stern.

"It's up to you to decide whether you're attending this wedding or not. If I'm allowed to give you my opinion-"

"You may", Heiji interrupted.

"-I think you should attend. To put a clear cut into this mess and to finally move on! And don't give me the 'I don't deserve this' card. If Touyama is allowed to see other people and even manages to get engaged, the least you can do is see new people."

Heiji huffed. Why did this sound easier coming from Kudou's mouth but the actual execution so difficult?

"You say this like its playing memory. I don't know how Kazuha managed to get herself a fiancé, but we can agree we're not going the same route?"

"That's also not what I'm implying. And for fucks same, stop comparing your progress to Touyama's, that alone would be a great start to move on."

"We'll see about that", Heiji murmured. He got up off the sofa, indicating that he'd like to go to this room. "I'll check the date, maybe I'm actually going to their wedding."
