If anyone had told Y/n that three years from now she'd be married to the person she despised the most, she'd smack them before taking them to the hospital to be admitted. However, most people would do that or just walk away and laugh, but it actually happens. You just don't know how important that person is to you, until they aren't there anymore, and then there's this ache in your heart. And that's when you realize, shit, you really did like them.
For Y/n, it was almost like that. The Kardashian's were only one of the many famous people that came to the diner she worked at because of the milkshakes they sold. They were fucken amazing, so she understood. When she first saw the sisters walk into the diner, she was surprised, like, why would they eat at a diner? But she ignored it and quickly went to wait on the group of sisters. And usually, the first impressions are the awkward ones, but this was un-fucken-believable. When Y/n had walked up to their table, they immediately were judging her, looking over her, and if she didn't really need the job, she would've told them to take a picture. But she remained professional (as well as she could be at least) and gave them a smile.
Their... instructions for ordering were crazy. A chicken sandwich with a triangle cut of cheese that was to be withheld until serving, and the cheese couldn't be more than five centimeters thick. A salad that needed to have five cherry tomatoes that were cut in half, and then cut again, and the chicken that came on the salad couldn't be touching the tomatoes. And that wasn't the last of it either. Thankfully, the chef knew about their crazy instructions and knew what to do.
When the food was done and after she delivered, she was hoping they ate quickly, than leave, but luck wasn't on her side. They called her over stating that her chicken wasn't hot enough, so she took it back, microwaved it, then brought it back to the table with a bright smile that was obviously fake. "Is this hot enough for you ma'am ?" Steam was rising off the chicken, which let people know it was hot. If there's steam rising off anything cooked, IT MEANS IT IS HOT!! But apparently she didn't have common sense because she bit it and burned her tongue, causing her to cry as she tried to stop the numbness at the tip of her tongue.
"You did that on purpose!" The oldest sister accused, but Y/n rolled her eyes.
"You wanted it hot because it was too cold, there was steam rising off of it indicating that it was hot. It's not my fault she ate it when it was hot." Y/n walked away, not bothering to wait the table anymore, instead, she sent her friend and told her if they tipped her, she could keep the money. And they did tip her, sixty fucken bucks, but her friend was sweet and split it with her, and Y/n honestly hoped she would never see them again.
Did I mention luck wasn't on her side... like ever? Because the next day, that's when everything started to happen, and basically fell into place.
Kendall showed up and stayed in for Y/n's whole shift, neither of them talking to each other, just Kendall being creepy and sending Y/n a smile everytime the waitress looked up.
When her shift was over, she left out the back, hopping into her car, and driving away, hoping she wouldn't see the model the next day.
Ha! Ha! Here comes luck again, going around her and onto the next person. Kendall was sitting in the exact same seat, with a smile and this time, a cup of coffee. Again, Y/n mostly ignored her, but she always felt Kendall's eyes on her, making her shiver at times which made her mostly keep hidden.
This continued on for a few weeks until Y/n had enough. She marched up to the model and put her hands on her hips. "Either go, or order something more than coffee. Maybe food wise, you're looking too thin. Not that I keep track or anything! Psh, no! Just order or leave." Y/n turns around and walks back behind the counter, yelling at herself and shaking her head.
"Wow, smooth..." her friend chuckled as she walked over to a table. Y/n rolled her eyes and scoffed. Her friend's an ass.
Another week passed, and Kendall's order changed from just coffee, or coffee and an omlete that would last her till noon. This woman was crazy.
One night, everything changed. Y/n volunteered to lock up, and by the time her day was over, Kendall was already gone, which made her day incredibly better. But when she exited through the back, she didn't see the model leaning against the wall waiting for her. She turned when she heard footsteps, but Kendall was already in front ofnher when she turned.
"Hi."
"Just tell me what you want so I can go home."
"Your number." Y/n raised her eyebrow and laughed.
"No. I hardly know you."
"Then go on a date with me." Y/n closed her eyes and sighed.
"No, you've been watching me at work everyday for the past month and a half. It's creepy, flattering, but creepy. You need to stop Kendall. And why me? Because last time we interacted, your sisters looked me up and down, judging me before even knowing me."
"True, but this is when you could give me a chance. Or you can tell me to go, and I'll go home, never to be seen again. Promise." Y/n let out a sigh and shook her head.
"I'm sorry Kendall, please leave me alone." The model deflated, which Y/n had to admit, that wasa stab in the heart for her, but finally the model would leave her alone.
Except, when Y/n went to work the next day, and she saw the empty seat, she smiled, but that smile never reached her eyes. Hell, it was fake. She shouldn't feel bummed that the girl that was bugging her for so long never showed up, especially when Y/n asked to leave her alone. So why did her heart feel like it just went through a heartbreak? Y/n didn't understand until a month later, the sisters came back to the diner, and Kendall was there, which caused her heart to go crazy.
She wasa stuttering mess as she took their orders, a blush rose to her cheeks as she talked with Kendall, who couldn't help but smirk at Y/n's difficulty.
But, when they finished, they all left. And again, Y/n's heart broke, and she went on with her shift like nothing happened.
When she finished work, she walked through the back door, shocked to see Kendall leaning against the wall again, waiting for her. Y/n gave her a shy smile, while Kendall smirked. "Wipe that off, or I'll leave." Kendall blushed and it changed into a smile, causing Y/n to smile.
It was quiet for a bit, before the waitress let out a soft sigh. "It hurt, a lot to not see you there the next day. Every ding of the bell, I thought and hoped it was you. I don't know what you did, but I don't want to see you leave... not anymore.".
"Go out with me, and I'll never leave again." Y/n nodded, the model smiling brightly, and pulled the waitress into a tight hug.
And now, three years later, Y/n is still working at the diner, Kendall still visiting her everyday, but now there's a new girl in their lives. She's the cutest and loves when her pancakes come with a smiley face and a cherry. Y/n may have not liked Kendall in the beginning, but she was in love with her now, and couldn't see her life without the stalker.
