"Tonight? But, we haven't gone out-"
"Y/n stop." Nicki rolled her eyes as she clipped the necklace around her neck. The singer looked at herself in the mirror, before looking at her pouting girlfriend.
"Look, I don't like it either. But soon, okay?" Y/n nods, Nicki gently grabbing her chin and tilting it up, pressing a kiss against Y/n's lips. "Don't wait up, love you." Y/n doesn't reply, as she hears Nicki walk down the stairs, and then the door closing a few seconds later.
"If you loved me you'd dump that thing..." Y/n mutters to herself as she grabs her phone and scrolls endlessly through Twitter. Her feed was pretty boring, until a text came through from her friend, asking if she was free tonight. Of course, Y/n said yes, and soon the two women were heading out to the local karaoke place.
The spot was pretty well known, hell, that's how her and Nicki met. Why she was there in the first place, Nicki still wouldn't tell, but she was glad she was. She also knew someone would possibly record them and Nicki would see it, and a fight would break out, but for now, she was just gonna have fun. She needed a fun night out, and like hell was she gonna sulk over something stupid like that thing her girlfriend was dating.
"Ready to get your ass whooped?" The belly laugh that came from Y/n had her friend rolling her eyes.
"How am I gonna get my ass whooped? It's karaoke you idiot."
"Whatever, I'm still gonna out sing you." Y/n scoffs and sends her friend a smirk.
"You wish baby girl."
When they pulled up, there was hardly an empty space, which wasn't that unusual. Tonight was girls night, so that may be the reason. And when they stepped into the bar, the sea of women was also a great hint. Someone was already on stage, singing horribly, but having a great time nonetheless. People were clapping along to the beat, singing the word back as the woman butchered the high note, but still got cheers. Y/n immediately went to sign up, people already recognizing her as she passed by them, and some were already walking up to cross their names off. How the hell were they gonna win with competition like her?
"What do you want?" She gently squeezed her friends waist, to get her attention as she nodded towards the bar.
"Whatever you're getting." Y/n smiled and patted her friend's back as she quickly kissed her friend's cheek. She walked over to the bar, ordering two Rums and Cokes.
Y/n hands over a twenty, but the bartender shakes her head and nods towards the end of the bar, where two women send her winks. She gives them flattering smiles before walking back to her friend, and handing her the drink. "You're so getting laid later." Her friend looks up with wide eyes before she smirks.
