Most people, except her fans, were shocked that Y/n had shown up to the VMA's. She was the type of person that didn't like showing up at award shows. Most of the time, she was either away on tour, or her manager would take the award for her. And it wasn't because she didn't like them, she did love them. But mostly she just wanted to stay in and sleep. Okay, she was too lazy to go, but could you blame her?
But she had a reason to go this year. Her girlfriend, Dua Lipa, was performing and Y/n wanted to see it. She loves watching her baby perform, even if people didn't know they were together. Either way, people knew to get as many pictures of her as they could, because she won't show her face for another award show for a while.
Of course, she declined interviews, but that didn't mean she wasn't gonna go hug her interviewer friends, she wasn't gonna deny them hugs. She walked inside the tall building, and smiled at an attendant who took her to her seat. Unfortunately for Y/n, her seat was at the very front, right in front of the stage.
"Of course.." she mumbles to herself. As she was passing other singer and celebrities, most were calling out to her and waving, which she smiled and waved back. But when she saw her girlfriend sitting in an end seat, she quickly stopped the attendant before kneeling by the British singer.
"Hi love.." Y/n whispered into her ear, causing the singer to jump and turn, before a smile came over her cheeks. Both ladies stood, before Dua pulled Y/n into a tight hug, and then did something that shocked Y/n and the entire place, placed a soft kiss on Y/n's soft lips. Lights were flashing, and screams were heard. Some people were whooping and cheering as they called out the ladies names as the kiss kept going.
The poor attendant stood there, not knowing what to do except step back and let the ladies have their time together. "You're crazy..." Y/n mumbled against Dua's lips, but that just caused the singer to smile, and kiss her deeply, before Y/n has to pull away for a deep breath. Both singer's cheeks were flushed, but neither cared.
"See you after?" Y/n rolled her eyes at the question, but nodded anyways.
"Always." With a last kiss, they continued to Y/n's seat. The singer walking with a confident smirk as she passed by other people who cheered and yelled for her.
Once in her seat, Camila leaned over to hug her while Shawn patted her shoulder. Ariana quickly ran over and sat in her lap, as she hugged her best friend tightly and told her how proud she was of her.
As the show started, Shay Mitchell and Cara Delevingne walked out on stage, and honestly, the award show couldn't have asked for better hosts.
"But, I gotta say, the part that I could see over and over again, already happened. That steamy kiss between Dua and Y/n!" The crowd cheered as the camera came in front of Y/n, who winked and blew a kiss at the camera.
"Right, best performance of the night, but also, congratulations on the couple that just came out in front of thousands of people! That's incredibly brave and we wish you nothing but the best!" Y/n blew the two ladies a kiss before they moved on.
It didn't take long until Dua was set to perform, and it was the same time as Y/n accepted her award, which she gave to her fans and family. She passed by her girlfriend in the back, quickly pecking her lips before taking her seat up front.
Soon, Demi Lovato was introducing her and the music for One Kiss came on, causing Y/n to laugh and shake her head.

At the end, Dua pulled Y/n in for another kiss, earning cheers from the fans, before Dua pulled away and smiled. "Oops." She said into the mic, with a laugh, Y/n smacking her girlfriend's arm, but not really meaning it. Y/n just hoped people wouldn't find out about the song was actually about Y/n bugging Dua for one kiss, but hey, it came true and she got a hit song out of it.
