Knocking on the door, the soft 'come in' let her know Lilly was in there getting ready. The new late night talk show host smiled at her girlfriend and spun around, opening her arms as she silently asks for a hug. Y/n, who will never deny her girlfriend's hugs, steps in between Lilly's legs and wraps her arms around her girlfriend's neck, holding her tightly.
"I didn't think you'd be here." Lilly mumbles against Y/n's shoulder. Y/n smiles and lets out a chuckle.
"I know, but I sped through my work to get here. Didn't want to miss your show. Why? Did you give my seat away already?"
"No, but maybe I should've, you could've sat on my lap." Y/n snaps her fingers, cussing under her breath as she rolls her eyes.
"Next time then."
"Lilly, ten minutes." Someone calls after knocking on her door. Y/n and Lilly look at each other, before leaning in and kissing each other softly.
"Go, you're in the front amd then we can get some food when we go home, okay?" Y/n nods, pressing her lips against Lilly's before walking away and finding her seat.
Like the guy called, ten minutes later the curtain draws back and the show's starting. Y/n claps the loudest when she comes out, so proud of her girlfriend at how far she has come.
"But, before we start the show, I have to ask something to my lovely girlfriend." That causes Y/n to sober from laughing, and sits straight up as the cameras zoom in on her and Lilly kneels in front of her.
"Four years ago, my life changed for the better. I had bravely asked you out for a date, and you said yes, then weeks later, we became exclusive. Even though we've been friends since grade school and you've been in many of my videos, that was honestly the bestest day of my life. I learned more about you since you became my girlfriend, like you hate cheese on your hamburgers, but you like a boat load of cheese on your chilli cheese dogs. You hate chocolate any other day than you being in your period, and you love animals and will kill all the spiders in the world for me and I love that about you." Lilly quickly pulls out a small box, and opened it in front of a slacked jawed Y/n. "Y/n will you please make me the happiest woman in the world and marry me?" Y/n's already nodding by the end of the sentence, pulling Lilly in for a tight hug as she kisses her softly.
Lilly puts the ring on Y/n finger, then pulls her in for another kiss as the cameras go to commercial. "Surprised?" Y/n laughs and nods, pulling Lilly in for another kiss before letting her go back to the show, but neither woman can stop the smiles that appear on their lips all show long when they stare at each other.
