Chapter 10 The Note

I woke in my bed, still in the dress Jake got me. I look at the ring on my finger. Last night really happened.

I go down stairs and see Jake's making me waffles.

"Morning." He says kissing my head

"Morning, Tylenol?" He passes me a glass of water and two tablets.

"Blazer you have work to catch up on."

"No!" I whine

"Hey! It's not called copying if your boyfriend leaves his backpack on the table while he's cooking you waffles." He says shoving his pack my way

"Best boyfriend ever." I say getting out his work to 'barrow'

He hands me a plate with waffles and a glass of milk. "You can do that later, eat up."

"Thanks Dearie but not hungry."

"Ruby eat something."

I roll my eyes and take a bite. Jake kisses my forehead and said "You got something from your car company."

I open the letter and it says I get a new car. Lovely.

"I get a new car, hey do you know how bad my Ukon was torn up?"

"Bad. So bad you got a new one."

"Hey why are you home? Isn't school today?"

"Your adorable. We don't have school this week. It's pre Christmas thing they do. Because some families don't always have Christmas off."

"Well I'm staying put then."

Jake raps his arms around me from behind "you have a family here."

"Forever and always?"

"Forever and always." Jake kisses me and helps me with my homework.

( 1 month has past)

"Ruby! Ruby! Wake up!" Don said shaking my shoulder

I fell asleep on the couch after copying Jake's work.

"Ruby I will pour ice water on you."

"And if you do I will scratch your throat out."'

I warned him. I was fair.

I turned over so my back was facing Don. But next I know I'm soaked with freezing water.

I jumped out of a spot and stared at Don.

"What cha gonna do, Blaze?"

I swung my leg over kicked behind his knee causing him to fall to his knees, I shoved him on his back and sat on top of him, still soaking wet. I raised my arm about to claw his throat when he covered his face and said "I surrender Ruby! I surrender!"

I got up and pulled him to his feet "It's Captain Ruby."

"Hey don't get cocky!" He scoffed

"I think I'm allowed to being that you surrendered. You didn't even get a taste of my wrath! Better luck net time, wuss."

"Yea yea smart mouth. Jake wanted to give you this."

He handed me a note which read.........................................
