Dad?

Mom comes home a few days later after we pulled the all-nighter.

"Hey kids! I'm home. Guess what?! I have a surprise!"

Mom never brings home surprises, I mean she works at a hospital. What is she gonna bring home? Plastic gloves? My jaw drops to the floor as does Sean's.

"This is Daryl. He will be staying with us for a while. He is my boyfriend."

Daryl looks extremely sketchy, he's wearing a navy blue suit and looks like he has a lot of money.

We order pizza for dinner and sit at the table for the first time since dad left. Daryl and Mom are talking while Sean keeps giving me sideways glances, clearly he has the same gut feeling I do. Apparently he is going to be living with us, doesn't he have his own place? But, whatever.

The next day Jenna texts me to go shopping. I head downstairs to go take the car and I see a different car in the driveway. Daryl comes downstairs.

"Hey Bella. It was supposed to be a surprise, but it seems that you woke up earlier than expected. Your mom was telling me how you and Sean share the car so I bought you your own. It's a senior year gift from me. More like a peace offering. Oh and you can take the credit card shopping."

I look in the driveway seeing a white Jaguar F-Type Convertible calling my name. I text Jenna telling her that I'm gonna pick her up. I arrive at her house and when she gets in the car her eyes look like they're going to pop out of her head.

"Where did you steal this car? Because I know that you can't afford this."

"My mom's new boyfriend, Daryl, bought it for me and also gave me his credit card to use. He seems nice but he's got this weird radiation coming off of him."

"Well, if he's giving you this kind of stuff, he's a keeper."

We laugh and adore my new car when we pull up to the parking lot. We bought so much stuff, some stuff I've dreamed of having the money to buy is finally bought. Jenna found so many new outfits not only for herself, but for me too.

We walk into the diner to get some milkshakes, and who do we see? Nick and Jessica at a table, laughing. Nick's eyes find mine and Jessica must've realized because she turned around sending me a warning glare and bringing Nick's attention back to her.

My boss walks over.

"Have you found a college yet?"

"I don't know yet. I know the year is almost half-way over but I still don't know. I'm thinking California."

"It sounds so much better than here and this sad diner."

"This diner isn't sad, it's what has been keeping me on my feet. I love working here."

"Okay, right. Well you girls enjoy your milkshakes. Bella, if you need me I'm only one yell away."

"Of course."

Jenna reminds me of try-outs tomorrow for gymnastics and I am not ready, mentally or physically.

Sorry it's shorter but it's leading up to something. Kind of another filler.
