Jenna, and Brittany were over helping me with some last minute packing before I go to the airport. You have to be there at least 2-3 hours before your flight, I don't know why, but you do.
We're sitting at the diner for one last meal before they drive me.
"We're really going to miss you."
We all gather into one big hug consisting of the three of us in the middle of what used to be my room. They head downstairs.
"I'll be down in a minute."
"Take as long as you need."
I spent so many hours in this very room, crying over my father, Nick, my mother, and everything in between. I dreamt of ways to get out of this place but now I'm not so sure I want to go.
"Whatever you're thinking about, stop."
I turn around and Sean is leaning against my door fram in a t-shirt and shorts, his usual.
"What am I thinking about?"
"Wanting to leave and then not wanting to because of everything you've gained."
"You're right for once."
"You deserve this more than me, you've always worked so hard to achieve your dreams and here you are not wanting to go through with them. I'm here to tell you to go, we'll be okay."
I run up to him and hug him.
"Thank you, for everything."
"Anytime sis."
We make it to the airport and with one last goodbye to my best friends I make my way towards my future.
***Four Hours Later***
I exit the plane and see a sign with my name on it and the man holding it has a big smile on his face.
"Dad?"
"Bella?"
I run into his arms and all the memories come flooding back to me, us looking at the stars, and playing catch.
We catch up on the drive to his house, which is fairly large for a man who left his family, but we won't get into that now.
"Bella, I'd like you to meet some people."
We walk in and there is a giant banner saying 'Welcome Bella!' And underneath it are two people who I am unfamiliar with.
"Bella, this is Stacie, my wife and our daughter Emily. Emily is the same age as you and you will be attending the same college."
Holy Shit. My dad started a new family without me.
Emily runs towards me and wraps me in a tight hug.
"OH MY GOD! I absolutely love your hair. I've always wanted a sister! We are gonna be the bestest of friends."
I look towards Stacie.
"I understand Bella if you hate me, I get it. I just want to be a mom to you and hopefully someone you can talk to or ask for help with anything."
I walk up to her and give her a hug and whisper.
"I love you guys already"
This place is already so much better than home, I have a loving step-mom, who is way more loving than my actual mother, and a step-sister as a best friend.
***Weeks Later***
Emily and I are sitting on my bed helping each other study for out exams coming up. I get to quiz her on business and she quizzes me on nursing. Thankfully our classes are at the same time, so we carpool and we have lunch together. I meet some of her amazing friends and her boyfriend, which I have shockingly become friends with his friends too. No one is out to get me, and everyone is nice.
I could definitely get used to this.
