Today is the first day of my Senior year at Stanley High, this very dreadful day is the start of a very dreadful year. My alarm clock goes off, and I reluctantly get my lazy ass out of bed to shower. I then change into my black ripped jeans, a grey tank top and a jean jacket along with my go to black converse. I head downstairs and my brother is already heading out the door, I grab a muffin and run to the car before he leaves without me.
We arrive at school, and then my brother and I part ways. I meet up with Jenna in front of the cafeteria. We compare schedules and find out that we have lunch and English together. Then the bell rings and we head to our first hour, math. I walk in and see confusing equations and numbers on the board and my eyes meet with Nick's. I turn around to leave and my brother pushes me back in. Great, now I have a class with him too.
The teacher comes in and she starts listing off seat assignments and guess where I am placed! In between my brother and Nick, and guess who's right behind me?! Jessica and her group of bitches. The teacher begins the lesson and then I feel one of her claws tapping me on the shoulder, and I turn around.
"Diner girl, can you move your big head so the people in the back can see?"
I turn around and neither my brother nor Nick say anything. What am I kidding, they would never stand up for me, not even if there was a gun to their head. Their popularity is way too important. They would never in a million years talk back to Jessica.
After the confrontation, I set my head down and eventually dose off to sleep until the bell rings waking me up and sending me to English with Jenna. I tell her about my Math class, and how I have "them" sitting behind me and my smart ass brother and his best friend next to me. I don't know how I'm going to make it through the year. We've been talking during class, and time flew by until it was lunch.
Jenna and I grab a table, and she keeps staring at me.
"You know, you would look really pretty if you wore makeup."
I've always wanted to wear makeup, but my mom always said that it was a waste of time and money.
"I would love to, but you know what my mom would say."
"Well, what if we try it out at the party tonight. We can go shopping, and give you a new look. It'll be fun!"
"Fine."
The rest of the day goes by in a flash, nothing new or exciting comes up. Just the usual sideways glances from Jessica and her gang. I have to walk to work because my brother has baseball practice with Nick and he can't drive me. Work flies by too, just the usual customers and then as my shift ends, I hear a car honking in the parking lot and see Jenna waving to me. I guess it's time to go.
