"Just need one night to hit it right, oh but I can't get her alone, no."

•Hazel"Oh my god." I abruptly sat up in my bed. Today was the 27th which meant it was Royalty's birthday. I had completely forgot. Chris said the party started at 3:30 and it was already 12:50
"Shit shit shit." I said, throwing off the covers off and running to the bathroom. I turned the shower on and stripped out of my clothes. I was in such a rush that I didn't even turn any music on. Quick showers weren't in my nature. It was already 1:30 by the time I was done washing, brushing my teeth and all that other good stuff.
I didn't like being late. You were either early or there's no point in going. I also didn't like rushing myself so I was frustrated to say the least.
I went into my drawer and pulled out a pair of black biker shorts. I put on a pink windbreaker, knowing the birthday girl would be wearing pink. I put on my pink air max 97's and my heartbreak on a full moon hat to top the outfit off.
"Ain't no way it's 2:10." I shook my head as I walked out to my garage. Time was moving way too fast for my liking. I still had to get my baby a gift. Since she had her ears pierced, I bought her a bunch of studs. I got her a charm bracelet, hoping it would fit her wrist. I bought her clothes and shoes, even though she had plenty. To top the gift off, I got a cute little bag and filled it with candy and girly things like lip gloss.
"3:19. Period Hazel cause you did that shit." I patted myself on the back. As I was on the way to Chris' house, I got a little excited. I was ready to see my baby... Royalty that is.
Once I arrived at his house, I spoke to the security guards. They let me in. I walked through the house to get to the party in the backyard.
"Hazel!" Mama J excitedly called my name as I walked through the kitchen.
"Hey." I smiled, giving her a hug.
"You need help?"
"No thank you. Come on, Royalty's been waiting for you." She walked me outside where Ro took pictures with the live actors Chris hired to play Princesses.
"Royalty look who I found." Everyone turned their attention to me. Ro jumped down and ran towards me.
"HAZELNUT!" She yelled my name out. I kneeled down, letting her run into my arms.
"Hey my big girl!"
"Mommy said you wasn't coming but I knew you would." Where did her mom get that from? It's not like I had a conversation with her telling her I wouldn't be here.
"Of course I would. I can't believe you're five. Did daddy cry yet?" I whispered the last part. She giggled before whispering in my ear.
"He said he was a thug and thugs don't cry." I laughed because she had no idea what that meant.
"He ain't no thug. He'll cry later." I put her down and walked over to her parents.
"Hey."
"Hey girl!" Nia spoke, reaching for a hug. "I'm glad you could make it."
"Of course. My bestie really five. Are we getting old or what?" She shook her head, staring off at Royalty.
"I know. Where did the time go?"
"Did you cry yet dad?" I asked, nudging Chris.
"Not yet, it'll come later though. My little princess is growing up, I don't like that shit."
