Those words just keep echoing in my head. I fucking hate you... She's never told me that before. There was so much anger behind her voice. This had to be built up emotion that is just now coming to surface.
"Nia?" I asked as she picked up the phone.
"Do you have Hazels new number? She changed it and blocked me."
"Well why would I give you her number?" I sighed. Females were so difficult.
"Please Nia?"
"No Chris. I'm not interfering in whatever you and that girl got going on. Undoubtedly she blocked you for a reason. Leave her alone." Why was that everyone's advice? I can't leave her alone. Even her telling me she hates me couldn't make me leave her alone.
"Bye Nia" I hung up the phone. She was no help at all. I had work to do. I couldn't sit around and feel sorry for myself.

"I told him I hate him. I- I didn't mean it. I don't hate him I was just mad!" I sobbed. I was getting too comfortable crying around people.
"Hazel it's okay. Chris knows you don't hate him." Draya comforted me, rubbing my back.
"No he doesn't Draya! I told him I didn't hate him. I promised him I never would. I broke my promise. I never should have said that to him. I wish I could take it back."
"Hazel, calm down." Summer grabbed my face.
"I can't Summer, I love him so much. Where's my phone?" I asked, frantically searching for it. Once I got a hold of it, Summer snatched it from me.
"No, i'm not letting you call him. It's time for him to feel some of the hurt you felt."
"Give it back Summer..."
"No Hazel. I'm sorry."
"Summer give her phone back." Kayla told her, shaking her head.
"No! I'm not going to watch my best friend get played by this dumbass again. She's better off without him."
"Who are you to tell her what she can and cannot do?" Draya asked with a frown. I was with her. Even my mama didn't do all this when i talked to her about it.
"Shut up Draya. I'm her best friend, not you. It's because of friends like you that get girls like Hazel walked over."
"Friends like me? You're the one filling her head with all this bullshit. Sure, Chris isn't our favorite person. Yeah we've seen him hurt her but Hazel is not our child. We have to let her make her own decisions and her own mistakes. As a friend, you should just be there to support whatever decision she makes." Kameron and Kayla nodded in agreement. I agreed too. To say she was my best friend, she wasn't acting like it.
"Hazel are you gonna take up for me or?"
"Take up for you? You're a grown woman. I'm your best friend, not your girlfriend. Draya's right, you need to loosen up."
"Wowww... I see how it is."
"You see how what is, Summer? You're being really inconsiderate and selfish right now. You're making the situation about you in Hazel's time of need. Can you be here for her instead of trying to control her? You love throwing around the fact you're her bestfriend but you're not acting like it."
