"I discover, discover I love her. Oh I gotta get her back."

•Hazel"Really? Why did she kick you out?"
"I don't know man. My mom is so strict for no reason." I laughed and shook my head.
"Your mom that bad?"
"I mean... she wasn't strict but she ain't just let me do whatever, ya know?"
"Yeah. What about dad?"
"Tuh. That's the strict one. I'm the type of person who wants to do things my way and he's the type of person that wants people to do things his way. We always butt heads."
"Ah. Is it still like that?" I shrugged.
"We don't have much of a relationship. I call him from time to time just to say I did my part but we don't talk as much as we should."
"How do you feel about that?"
"It used to get to me but once I started dating Chris, its like he filled in a lot of empty space in my life. I'm sorry, I don't mean to bring him up. That must've been... awkward."
"No it's totally fine. He was a huge part of your life at one point. I can't get mad at that."
It was refreshing to talk to someone with common sense and maturity. Ever since that night at the restaurant two weeks ago, Dre and I have been talking everyday. It felt good talking to a man other than Chris. I would be lying if I said I didn't still miss him but I was taking it one step at a time.
"You ready?" I asked as I fixed him a plate. I told him about my famous spaghetti and he insisted on me making it.
"Let's see if it's better than mine." I sucked my teeth.
"Boy please. You can't even cook."
"I can't cook?"
"That's what I said." I laughed, handing him his plate.
"Pssh. Don't make me get in this kitchen and teach you something."
"Oop. Excuse me chef." He smiled and ate some of the spaghetti.
"Mmm... it's good or whatever." I playfully hit his arm.
"I'm kidding. This is pretty good though. What you put in it?"
"That's a secret."
"Ohhh it's a secret?"
"Yes it is. But since you swear you can cook, what's your famous dish?"
"Steak and shrimp."
"Oh really? Well I would like to be invited over to get a taste of this famous steak dinner." He smiled.
"Most definitely." We ended up talking and laughing for hours. It's only been two weeks but we've learned so much about each other. It feels as if we've known each other forever. I don't want to jump into something or fall so fast because I don't want to risk getting my heart broken again but... I like Dre.

"Hazel invite us over, sheesh!" Draya said over the group Facetime we had going on with the twins." I know right. We haven't seen you in two weeks."
