"Hazel?"
"Yes honeybun?"
"Why are you and my daddy not together anymore?" I knew this question was going to come one day but I wasn't quite prepared.
"Umm..."
"I asked him and he said it's because he hurt your feelings. How did he hurt your feelings?"
"He did something he wasn't supposed to do. You know how me and daddy used to kiss?"
"Yes"
"Well he was only supposed to do that with me. He wasn't allowed to do that with other girls but he did it anyway. That's a form of lying."
"Lying is bad."
"Yes it is so you better not do it." I said putting ice cream on her nose. She giggled before wiping it off.
"Are y'all going to get back together?" I sighed. I didn't want to sell her false hope. Plus I just told her lying was bad so I couldn't lie to her.
"I honestly don't know baby. Sadly, the answer is no right now. Only God knows what the future holds though."
"God, can you get Hazelnut and my daddy back together?" She asked, looking up at the ceiling. That broke my little heart knowing my baby wanted us back together so badly.
"God likes me. Y'all will be back together in no time."
"Is that right?"
"Yes."
"Well, i'm not sure about the last part. I know god loves you though. You done with your ice cream?" She nodded.
"Okay. Come on." We threw our trash away and left.
"Where else do you wanna go?"
"Can we go to the trampoline park?" She asked from the backseat. I looked in the rear view mirror, seeing the grin on her face.
"You got it dude."
Once we got to Sky Zone, I got her out of the car and grabbed her hand since she loved running off. Chris ain't bout to kill me if something happens to his kid.
"Hazel!" I heard someone yell. I looked around, confused as to who was blowing up my spot. Out of nowhere, people with cameras ran up to me. I put Royalty on my hip. Paparazzi had no respect.
"Hazel are you and Chris back together?" All the questions and cameras flashing was about to drive me crazy. I shielded Ro's face as I proceeded to walk in the place.
"Hazel, are you giving Chris a second chance?"
"Hazel, we seen you with Chris yesterday. Are you guys giving it another shot?"
"Hazel, What are you doing with Royalty? Does this mean you and Chris decided to work things out?"
"I would appreciate it if y'all would get out my face! No, Chris and I are not back together now EXCUSE ME!" I yelled out so they all could hear me. I pushed through them and walked inside.
"Hazel who were those people?"
"Paparazzi."
"What's paparazzi?" She asked as I took her shoes off.
