An update which I was meant to publish like last week or something but didn't as I forgot to edit it 🙃

Kit had dragged Ty down to the beach one afternoon. They'd been together for 7 years and Kit wanted to take the next step. He just hoped Ty was also ready too. They were currently walking along the beach watching the sun go down and the water be painted different colours by the sunset.

"It's so beautiful," Ty mumbled as they came to a stop.

"You're so beautiful," Kit replied with. A blush crept up onto Ty's cheeks, as it always would when Kit complimented him.

Kit took a deep breath and Ty turned to him curious.

"You okay?" He asked, a bit of worry crept into his voice.

Kit smiled at him. "Never better."

He reached into his pocket and took out the box with the golden band in it. Kit went down on one knee.

"Ty. Our journey started when you broke into my dads house and held a knife against my throat." Kit started. Ty covered his mouth in shock, his eyes wide. Kit took a deep breath and continued, this was the last problem he had to solve. "Logically speaking, I should have been terrified, but I wasn't. All I could think about was how beautiful you were, and I still think that. Then when I isolated myself after my father was ripped apart by demons and you sat outside my door, never giving up. You gave me hope Tiberius Blackthorn, that maybe shadowhunters weren't that bad. You made me feel like I wasn't completely alone. Then I started hanging out with you and Livvy, and everything started to get better. When Livvy died, you broke. I spent my days at your side wanting to help you, to lessen the pain and without knowing it, I started falling in love. Then I made the stupid mistake of leaving and I didn't see you for another three years. That decision will always be one of my biggest regrets, leaving you. I promised Livvy I wouldn't and I wish I hadn't broken that promise. Our missions after that with Dru to save the world and fix our mistake. All the dates, even the one where you took me to a duck pond and I saw a swan. Every single big or small moment I've ever had with you over the years that I've known you Ty, I will forever cherish. I love you Tiberius and forever will. So, will you help me solve my last problem? Will you marry me?"

Ty flung himself at Kit, wrapping is arms around him. "Yes! Of course I'll marry you Kit!" He replied happily, and kissed Kit. The kiss was deep and slightly mind-numbing, as most of the ones he shared with Ty were.

When they broke apart Kit held up one of the rings. "May I?" He asked and Ty nodded, giving Kit his left hand. He slid the ring on and smiled at how perfectly it fit. An inscription of thorns ran around the ring, and a single Heron on the front. (If that description doesn't make sense, I'm sorry, I didn't know how to put it into words)

"It's amazing Kit, just like you," he mumbled, a huge grin on his face. Kit slid the other band onto his own ring finger.

"I'm glad you like it," Kit replied. "We should probably head back to the Institute, we've been gone for a few hours and they'll most likely be wondering what your answer was."

"They'd be idiotic to think I'd say no to you," Ty said as he stood up. He held out a hand to Kit, who gladly took it, and pulled him to his feet.

Kit gave Ty one last kiss before they made the journey back to the Institute.
