junmyeon silently got ready, changing into the outfit that sehun had chosen for him. yixing himself was wearing a suit. junmyeon asked sehun why their outfits were so drastically different.

"yixing's a ceo. you're a chef. right now the important thing is contrast," sehun explained, junmyeon nodding as he put on his grey sweater, "besides, you look cute and smol in sweaters."

"comfortable," junmyeon made out. sehun nodded.

"i know, it's my brand, after all," sehun joked, winking at junmyeon.

yixing knocked on the door, then entering, "are you ready? we have to go soon."

anson ran in with jaemin. anson was wearing normal clothing- blue skinny jeans with red and white patches, a nice button up shirt with a little blue blazer on top. he looked like a mix of yixing and junmyeon.

"i see what you did here," junmyeon nodded at sehun, twiddling his ring on his finger.

"yehet," sehun nodded, giving junmyeon a thumbs up.

"okay, we can go now," junmyeon said, grabbing his apple watch and putting it on.

"very well, let's go," yixing said.

"come on, jaeminnie, you're gonna see what i do all day," sehun said, picking up jaemin, "alright, good luck you three. we'll see you later."

"okay, bye," junmyeon said, yixing holding the front door open for him. he walked out with anson, pushing his glasses up a little more. yixing himself was wearing contacts. normally it was the other way around, but arjun's artistic vision disagreed.

"alrighty, so you've both been married secretly for five and a half years and kept me secret to protect me from paparazzi?" anson asked. junmyeon nodded, helping his son up into the car. then junmyeon went to the passenger seat, yixing shutting the door after him.

"okay, here we go," junmyeon mumbled to himself, taking a deep breath as he stared at his ring. he liked his ring. he didn't like how he got it, though, and so now it was just a burden to him.

they drove in silence, anson daydreaming about how his parents were married now and that was awesome. junmyeon himself was very conflicted, not knowing if he was doing the right thing here. yixing was just trying to forget about last night, junmyeon's scent being implanted in his brain. he never thought that this would be how he ended up being married to junmyeon. hell, for a solid years, he never thought that he would be married to junmyeon at all.

"dad, you're coming over for new years, right?" anson asked yixing.

"yeah, annie, i am," yixing nodded, then glancing at junmyeon, "it's at your parents?"

"it is every year," junmyeon replied, still fiddling with his ring. yixing noticed he did that a lot recently.

"okay," yixing replied, "been a while since i saw them."

"they wanted me to invite you to dinner tuesday," junmyeon said, "no point now, though, since you'll be spending new years with us."

"i'll still go," yixing said, then remembering he had several meetings tuesday, "i'll move some stuff around."

"okay," junmyeon said, "oh, and sehun is leaving to china soon, so you'll need to be around more to help with anson and jaemin."

"okay," yixing nodded, thinking about how he would rearrange his schedule, "just let me know what you need me to do."

"okay," junmyeon spoke softly. anson frowned to himself. his parents still didn't get along, even if they were 'married'.

"you guys can't be that short with one another in front of cameras, you know that, right?" anson asked. junmyeon and yixing glanced to the back.
