dear malia,

you weren't in school today and i wanted to know why. you're never absent.

parker told me you were probably just sick and that i shouldn't worry, but that didn't stop me from worrying.

"hannah, she's absent, not dying," parker said.

i let out a little laugh. "yeah, you're right."

i still worried.

you came to the last period to collect your homework. you smiled at me in the hallways.

it gave me this fluttering feeling that kinda just exploded in my stomach and it felt funny.

that's never happened to me before.

i liked it. i liked it a lot.

"hannah," you said.

"h-hi," i said. i'm pretty sure i was blushing. but you didn't notice. thank god.

"did we have any homework in science?"

i nodded. and then i told you what we were assigned. you thanked me and smiled again before walking away.

that fluttering feeling in my stomach came back. i giggled. i really liked you. i liked the butterflies as well. i like the way you make me feel.

truly,

hannah
