i didn't tell josh about what happened at school when i got back to the motel that day after school ended.
i didn't want him to know.
he asked me how school was. i told him it was fine.
his girlfriend lila came over to the motel that night and we decided to go out for dinner. in the car, i saw josh and lila looking at each other every now and then with so much love and admiration. i wished you looked at me like that.
at dinner, they told me that lila was going to have a baby. i smiled because i was happy for them. i was happy because my brother looked happy.
and i hugged my brother and congratulated him and lila. lila joined the hug too.
i felt like we were a real family.
