dear malia,
we didn't end up going that far.
josh drove us to a motel a few minutes away, which i didn't even know was there.
i was sitting on the sofa as i waited for josh to come back with some food.
when he finally did, he had two bananas and two bottles of water.
"really?" i said. "it took you, what, twenty minutes to get bananas and water?"
"there was a line at the corner store," he told me and i laughed.
-
later, josh told me we should get some sleep. and i nodded, letting out a yawn.
he tucked me in just like a child, and i gave him a small smile.
"josh," i said as he began to turn away.
he looked at me. "yeah? what's up, han?"
i smiled at him. "thank you," i whispered. "really, thank you."
he smiled back at me. he told me i was a good person and that i deserved good things. it was hard to believe him, but i tried my best.
i hugged him tightly. josh always gave the best hugs. i was so glad i had him as my brother.
"thank you, josh," i said. "i love you.""i love you too, han."
josh was probably my favourite person in the world right now next to you.
truly,
hannah
