dear malia,

i went to the mall with my sister on saturday and i saw you there.
you were with another boy, but i didn't recognize him.
when you glanced my way, you didn't even smile. you just looked at me until the boy tugged on your arm, putting your attention back on to him as he rambled on about a sports game.

she asked me what i was staring at and i told her it was nothing. i don't think she believed me.

when i turned back around to sneak another glance, you were already gone.

sushi was sarah's favourite food ever since she tried it for the first time a year ago so we had to stop at the food court before leaving the mall. i didn't want to buy anything, but my sister insisted that i get this top that she thought i looked cute in.

i wonder if you'll like it too.

when we got home, it started to rain. i've always loved the rain.

i went up to my room right away and i grabbed my notebook and began writing these letters i'm never going to send to you once again.
i hope to see you tomorrow. i hope you smile at me because i love your smile.
i love you, malia.

truly,
hannah
