Chapter 14: Cover is Blown

Roxanne's POV

I was getting ready for my date with Bernard. I was wearing a purple dress and heels. Suddenly, I heard a thump. I walked onto my balcony and looked around. I saw nothing and turned back around.

"Oh my god!" I screamed.

Spray was in front of me with a baseball bat in her hand. Her eyes were bright red and she stared at me.

"Roxanne." She growled.

I dodged her attack and ran inside. She threw the bat and hit me in the back of the head. I fell down and backed up against the wall. Her red eyes stared me down as she pointed a gun at me. My eyes widened as my mouth opened slightly.

The gun clicked and her eyes didn't blink. We were eye to eye as if it was life or death for me. Her eyes faded back to (e/c). She looked at the gun and back to me. She shook her head violently.

She shot back towards me and her eyes were red again. She grabbed ahold of her head and screamed. She dropped the gun and jumped off the balcony and disappeared. Tears streamed down my face as I walked towards the gun. I was that close to death with just a click.

Megamind's POV

I was at a table waiting for Roxanne to come. I looked around and then used my dehydration gun to light the candle. Roxanne ran in and sat down.

"Roxanne are you alright?" I asked as I saw the tear stains on her cheeks.

She wiped them, "yes. Something happened is all."

"What?"

"Spray tried to kill me." She answered, "she pointed a gun at me."

"What the hell-why would she do that?" I asked trying not to blow my cover.

"I honestly don't know." She answered, "but ever since she's been working with Megamind, her evilness has gotten worse."

"How so?" I asked.

"Her eyes are red for longer periods of time. It's like she's.....someone else." She answered.

"Well for the time being, let's enjoy each other's company." I replied holding up a glass of wine.

"I'm sorry Bernard you're right." She said, "I'm getting a little carried away. To Bernard, for being the only normal thing in my crazy upside down world."

????'s POV

I stood outside the restaurant watching them drinking together. He didn't love you....who could EVER love a MURDERER like YOU!

"Stop." I growled, "That's not true."

You're too dumb to understand. He USED you. He only wanted you on his team so he could steal more stuff. He wanted NOTHING to do with you.

"THAT'S NOT TRUE!" I screamed and ran away.

Roxanne's POV

I leaned in on Bernard and started kissing him. He kissed back. People then started gasping and screaming in fear. I opened my eyes and saw that I was kissing....MEGAMIND! I shoved him off of me and gasped.

"You." I whispered.

"What? Oh no! DON'T LOOK AT ME!" He yelled, "it's just a glitch."

He tried to fix his watch but I poured wine on it and short it out. I ran out in the ran and started walking. Something drove up to me and Megamind popped out.

"I can explain!" He told me.

"No you can't!" I yelled, "You took Spray off the streets, you destroyed Metro Man, and you actually got me to care about you!!! Why are you so evil? Tricking me? What could you possibly hope to gain?"

He looked at me with sad eyes. I gasped.

"I don't believe this. Did you really think that of ever be with you?"

"...no." He answered.

I then walked away from him....leaving him in the cold rain.
