Chapter 1 - a look from across the room

I was sat in my best friends apartment on his sofa in his apartment in London, Will Lenny and Gee Nelson along with will's girlfriend Mia and my boyfriend Alex Elmslie

We were having a couple drinks together to celebrate Will's channel hitting 5 million subscribers. I've always cherished my friendship with Will he's helped me through so much over the years and I have helped him in return. We've watched each other grow and he helped introduce me to my current boyfriend Alex

"Who's up for more drinks?!" Mia says standing up from will's lap heading over to the liquor cabinet "Oh go on then" Alex says standing up removing his arm from around my waist to grab another glass "no thanks" me and Will said in unison making us chuckle slightly "I've had enough for now" Gee said hiccuping taking a sip of her drink in hand. " I think you need a glass of water I say fluffing Gee's hair before standing up dusting down my dress "want me to get you one?" I say looking down at Gee "yeah please" she says giggling I smile politely and start heading towards the kitchen of the modern apartment. Will suddenly gets up and starts following me out "I'll come with, I think we'll need more than one glass like" he says putting his arm around my shoulders making me blush ever so slightly "alright" I say weakly.

Will goes over to the cupboard getting a few pint glasses while I ran the tap "Congratulations again will" I say looking at him side on smiling "you really do deserve it" I add sitting onto the worktop sliding my hand in a fidgeting manner across the smooth marble surface " I couldn't of done it without your support" he says smiling at me as he fills up a couple of the glasses "and everyone else's of course too like, it's hella crazy how far we've all come I mean look at you an Alex". I watch will as he fills up the glasses and I can't help but almost feel guilty? I think is the only way to put it when he mentions me and Alex being together, I like Alex a lot don't get me wrong but. If I'm being honest with myself my heart is in a different place completely but I would never admit it. "Me and Alex? What about you and Mia surely you have a big anniversary coming up soon" I say smiling genuinely at him because I was genuinely happy for him and Mia, even though it hurt a little. "Yeah we do I suppose" he says making eye contact with me a few seconds longer than normal before breaking eye contact with a smile as he picks up two of the pint glasses saying nothing else he walks out the kitchen. I sigh and grab the other glasses following him out of the kitchen back into the living room

I place the glasses on the table and hand one to Gee who smiles thankfully at me before I sit back next to Alex who gives me a small kiss on the cheek before putting his arm back around my waist and as I smile at Alex I can't help but notice will watching him from across the room. But he immediately breaks eye contact with me the second we connect, and then he turns to kiss Mia.
