I was a refuge, seeking for asylum, only my mother to carry me on her back. My twin brother died a year before due to medical issue, diarrhea is what my mom informed me of. I remember the night before boarding the plane we had our last meal, we ate what was there although it wasn't much. I remember a rattle snake, known for making much noise they aren't slick as they are known to be.
But I remember it slithering through my mom legs and wrapped itself around her ankle. I don't know it would bite hell I didn't what I was all I knew was that little thing moving around with no legs. It bit my mom on the ankle and screamed in pain, my uncle quickly killed the snake and seeked her a medical attention. That was that. The next day we came aboard to a plane to the USA, I was only four with a family of five. I remember sitting on the airplane watching something scary and I shatted on myself. I wasn't wearing any diapers nothing familiar to me. But my mom rushed me to the bathroom to while my ass. 16 hours later we landed in this beautiful city name Chicago Illinois. Had amazing building the lighting was new it was the most beautiful thing we've seen.
We arrive to our new home, I believed it was an apartment small one but better then nothing right. At the time Chicago wasn't that deadly and I say wasn't because Chicago was never a peaceful place. I'd hear gunshots every night but nothing compare to the crime and death tole I hear about now. My sisters began school about a month later. No English so I know it was a difficult time for them. Going outside was an athletic scheduling, only because we'd be chase by a untrained pitbull every now and so. Overtime the death of residents rose as crime became more common, on every corner drugs are being sold and it was just a mess. So we decided to move.
We had no money so gods no where we ended up but we found our selves in temporary houses out far in a city I don't recall. If we abused the house we told we were going to be kicked out so we were careful. At the time I was a bed wetter. That was bad for my family because if your house smell like piss that's a house violation to the owner of the houses. I kept wetting the bed none stop and it got to the point where we were removed from the house. We moved In with my aunt. Stayed a couple months and migrated to Columbus Ohio.
At Columbus is where we found home, welcomed alot of our people the refuge have settled there years ago and we came after. We got along with neighbors and people it felt like that would be our home for the remainder of our lifetime till my little brother was born. Things started to get out of hand. Like Chicago Columbus was getting bad. By the fall of 2008 we moved to Buffalo, New York, I was shocked when my mom said were moving to New York i thought we was actually moving to the city instead we were shocked to see the pot hole drastic city we ended up in.
