"One day we'll be old and get married," Dick stated as he looked up at the clouds floating above their heads and in the cloudy sky. The last of the the seagulls squawked, making their presence known. The sound of the low, cold waves created a nice white sound. The two heroes were laying down on the sand. Artemis' body was facing one way. Dick's was facing the other. They're heads were right next to each other's. The bird and the goddess both wore hoodies so the sand won't get in their hair. Plus it was too chilly to wear just a tee.

"Why do you think that?" Artemis bit back a chuckle. It felt like such an odd thing to think about. Best friend's growing old together just to get married by the end of their lives? They couldn't have children together or really do anything. They could only die together. It sounded quite morbid, actually.

Dick shrugged, "I don't know. We'll do it as a joke. All of our friends will be utterly confused and we'll just soak it up like the pranksters we are. It'll be on this beach, on a cloudy day, and there won't be anyone there to witness it. Maybe my kids or something? They'll be in on it."

"What makes you think I won't have kids?" The blonde frowned, "And why wouldn't we already be married?"

"I don't know. It's just a feeling," He guessed, not really knowing the answer himself. After a few moments of thinking about their future wedding, he smiled despite himself. They would have one of those cheesy flower walls. Artemis would insist on lotus flowers and that would be enough for him. His grandkids would be the ring bearer and the flower girl. His son or daughter would pronounce them husband and wife. Instead of kissing they would high five each other. Their honeymoon probably won't be as playful. Artemis and Dick would stop by all the resting places of their friends. But it would be light hearted. They would recount funny memories and tell their departed friends about the wedding.

Artemis chuckled as she sat up and looked down at her friend, "Would we even date before the wedding?"

"We will be such old friends that we won't even have to," Dick grinned at her, "By that time we'll be able to finish each other's sentences."

"I guess that's apart of the joke, huh?" The archer continued to chuckle. She laid on her stomach and looked up at the rocks of the former cave. She highly doubted that this would happen, but it seemed nice. A small wedding with her best friend? And just for old laughs? That was totally something they would do, "Y'know what? If you don't marry me, I'll be disappointed."

"Shall I get you a promise ring now?"

"You better count on it, Grayson," She flicked a tiny rock at him, but he grabbed her arm and flipped her over. Now they were laying side by side. Artemis blinked a few times to process her new position.

The blonde hit the raven against his chest, "Asshole."

He let out a choke of laughter at her lame tease, "Just look at clouds. That one looks like a squirrel."

"And that one looks like a squid," They kept guessing the figures of the clouds until it became far too cold to stay outside any longer.

A/N: This was meant to be short and sweet. Enjoy! :)
