The Blind Marriage

Chapter 9

Shuanghui's POV

I was pacing, it had been twenty minutes since I called and they are not here yet, It took me ten minutes, "where the hell are they?" I breathed out clenching tightly to the necklace and phone a nurse had handed to him shortly after he got off the phone with his mother

the Man and the woman from the restaurant came rushing around the corner to the operation theatre where I was stood, My eyes widened as the fury in the woman's eyes was aimed at me

She walked straight over to me and before I could react a sharp sting spread across my left cheek as the echo of a slap bounced off the walls of the narrow hall "what did you do to my son? he was fine till you took him away" she shouted and growled out at me, he voice wasn't as sweet as before, it was filled with concern and anger, full-on rage

I lowered my head unable to meet her eyes, I didn't know what to tell her, I don't even know what happened myself, "he... he suddenly went pale and dazed.... that's all I know"

the older man restrained the woman that once looked gentle and calm, the phone in my hand started ringing and I clicked ignore

A few seconds later it was ringing again, I frowned and answered it "what!" I growled out down the speaker

there was silence for a moment "who the hell are you?" a young masculine voice huffed out down the phone

I frown, I don't recognise this voice, pulling the phone from my ear and read the called ID 'Dong ge" I looked at the older man who was calming his now crying wife and held the phone out to him "someone called Dong ge"

the man took the phone "Xiao Dong, we are at the hospital" before anything else could be said the phone was being passed back to me and the call had ended

not five minutes had passed as a young man came around the corner, just then the doors opened and I looked over to see the doctor pushing Mengrui out of the theatre, I walk over to the doctor and looked at Mengrui "is he ok?"

the man nodded and looked at me as the younger man ran over to us "food poisoning and an allergic reaction, what is he allergic to, we can help him easier if we know his allergies, speed up the healing"

he was staring at me and I looked at him, I didn't know what to say, I didn't even know Mengrui though I was married to him "Seafood" the smaller male beside me spoke "Mengrui is allergic to seafood" he repeated

I flinched as the doctor looked at me suspiciously before walking away "you can visit him in a moment" the doctor said before taking Mengrui away

The smaller male looked at me with a dark glare he was about to say something and I frowned cutting him off before he could speak "Don't you dare blame this on me, the food poisoning takes time to hit your system,  and I don't know hos allergies to tell my father seafood wasn't a good thing to order, maybe you shouldn't have gone to a stupid party" I huffed out, my eyes widened at what I said and quickly walked away from them and waited outside of the room Mengrui was taken to

the others had followed but kept their distance from me, I was leaning against the wall by the door, I had my leather jacket on and a pair of black skinny jeans, and a white polo shirt, my mother considered this as a more casual smart then what I usually wear, least it was neater then ripped jeans or leather biker pants

I was fiddling with the necklace in my hand looking at the small silver band that had the leather string looped through it, it had small white diamonds embedded into it, I spotted a small engraving on the inside but before I read it I turned my attention to the door of Mengrui's room as it opened, the doctor came out and nodded followed by a nurse

"you may go in now," the nurse said

I pushed myself up off the wall and slipped inside as soon as the nurse was out of the way, the others didn't enter and I took my seat next to the small pale boy that was lying in the bed, the beeping of the machine ringing through my ears, I let out a sigh and watched him for a moment before putting his phone on the table and gently placing the ring on the piece of leather into his hand. "Sorry" I mumbled before getting up and walking out and heading to the waiting room where my parents were waiting

"How is he doing," my mother asked once I walked through the doors

I shrugged "He's fine, food poisoning and allergic reaction but he's recovering fine, go home and get some rest Ma, it's getting later, and take the old man with you I don't even want to see him, speaking to him isn't an option, I need to go, need to look something up," I said slight anger still in my tine, I gave my mother a quick kiss on the cheek and walked out

I got on my bike and sped off to Tang Kuanwo's house,  I banged on his door and waited, hearing a loud grumble coming from inside "Definitely should just give you a key to get in my home" he said in mock joy

I glared at him "enough with the jokes, I want you to search the financial status of my dad's company and the kid's families' company"

he headed back inside his house yawning "this is illegal and since when are you so interested in the company affairs"

I growled "Just do it Kuanwo"

Tang searched them up and I sat down pulling out my phone, I started writing a text

The old man has messed up big time, I don't know how to deal with it anymore, Kuanwo is helping but I need your help, please come, I can't explain on here

I typed it up and then sent it to my brother, Just as I finished my text Kuan looked at me with a worried expression "what's going on Shuanghui?" I shook my head and pointed to the laptop, he resumed research and I went and took a shower

once I came back in there were 2 piles of paperwork on the table and Kuanwo was in his small kitchen cooking something "eating before you leave, also I'm coming with you"

I nodded and bagged up one stack of the paperwork "thank you brother" I say before taking a seat as he placed floor in front of me, I ate faster than him and saw him rush the last of his as I made my way towards the door, I got on my bike and Kuanwo was attaching a helmet as he made his way over bumping into a few things "Brother, you are so graceful at multitasking"

Once we got to the hospital I headed straight for Mengrui's room, I went to walk in but stopped, his parents were in there, the kid from before was gone though, Kuanwo squeezed his head around my shoulders, he was slightly shorter than me but he saw why I stopped "Ah! the inlaws" he chimed in a joking manner

Kuanwo stumbled back as I turned and glared at him "Shut it" I growled grabbing his shirt collar to stop him from stumbling into someone "does this look like a joke to you" I growled out

Kuanwo just smirked at me "of cause not little brother" he said patting my shoulder "but your care for the kid and his family isn't a joke either, it's amusing to see you like this, I never thought you would be so gentle to someone who is practically a stranger" his cheerful tone said, I let him go shoving him back a little, he stumbled and caught himself on the opposite wall, just as the kid from before turned the corner with a couple of drinks in his hand

He looked at me, I don't think he could look anymore displeased "move you're in my way" he said cold and demanding

At that moment Kuanwo chose that time to burst out in laughter, "Oh my god is that kid trying to order you around, even as your commander you never listened to me"

he was still laughing when I gave him another shove opening the door to Mengrui's room "Kuanwo, you stay out here" I said following Dianfa in

Kuanwo kindly mock saluted "yes sir" A smirk pleasent on his face as I went out of sight

When I walked in behind the kid he had passed one of the hot drinks to the man that was with Mengrui when we got married and went to pass the other to the elegant looking woman that slapped me before, She didn't take the drink, instead, she looked at me and got up, I tensed and froze, was she going to slap me again

Instead of slapping me she bowed lightly "Thank you" she said quickly before standing back up straight and looking up at me "thank you for bringing him here, I'm also sorry for slapping you, you didn't deserve that after helping him" her voice was once again calm and soothing
