Shuanghui POV

I left the room, it was kinda pissing me off that she was all over Mengrui, never mind the stinging slap she gave me, I walked into the kitchen and Meirong was in there "hey" I said quietly not to startle her

She turned to me and smiled but it soon fell to a frown "what happened to you?" she said before turning to the freezer opening it"

I let my shoulders shrug "It was nothing" I said softly as she turned and passed me the Ice pack she grabbed "bumped into something that's all" I didn't want to trouble her, she was kind and never gave me trouble other than that one slap she gave me when Mengrui was in hospital which I don't blame her for being worried about her son

She turned to go and cook and I placed my hand on her shoulder "Do you mind if I cook for you and Xiao Rui, Ayi, I promise it will be good" Giving her a soft smile

She looked at me a little confused but she must have put the pieces together because she smiled back at me "sure you can, I don't mind if you cook" She went to walk out but stopped as she got to the door "oh don't forget to cook for Dianfa and Shuying please"

I gave her a reluctant smile, not happy with either of them and nodded "sure Ayi, I'll make sure there is enough for everyone" instead of leaving she sat on the stool and watched me, she seemed interested in my cooking, I put the ice pack away and started with the food

After I while I headed upstairs, hearing the current conversation "when will you let me cut this" I heard the girl say, Shuying I think her name was

I walked into the room just and Mengrui opened his mouth to say something I cut him off before he could start "he doesn't need a haircut, anyways food is ready" Dianfa and Shuying got up and headed out the room

I looked at mengrui who did not attempt moving "I'm not hungry" he tried to claim, but I raised an eyebrow at the sound of his stomach grumbling

I walked closer to him "not hungry, I think your body is disagreeing with your stubbornness" I pull him up off his bed by his hand "listen Mengrui, fine if you don't take the medication it will just put you in pain but not eating at all will do you no good, so please just come and eat at least" I said pulling him towards the door, we got to the top of the stairs, he slipped his hand from mine as we saw Dianfa at the bottom, I frowned slightly, but it leads to a chuckle as his stomach growled again at the smell of the food, he seemed to glare down at his stomach for betraying him, I followed him down and into the dining room where everything was on the table to be served, he sat down and Shuying and Dianfa quickly sat next to him, I frowned and sat opposite him instead next to Meirong

I started eating after everyone else, Mengrui seemed to stop and put his chopsticks down, he looked up from his plate to his mother a confused look on his face "Ma. you didn't cook this did you"

She chuckled and shook her head, I remained quiet as they spoke "no I didn't, today's chief is Xiao Li" she said gesturing towards me with both hands

Dianfa seemed to frown and clearly, Shuying chose not to listen to what Meirong just said because the next thing I hear was "Ma can you teach me how to cook like this, it's great, I wanna cook food like this for Mengrui"

Meirong shook her head and chuckled again "I didn't cook this Shuying, Xiao Li did, and it is so much better than my cooking, watching him cook was mesmerizing and different, he seemed to know more of what he was doing than I do, I'm sorry"

I smiled slightly at eh compliment, as I watched Mengrui, he seemed to roll his eyes at what Shuying was saying and went back to eating, Shuying was pouting "but I want my future mother in law to teach me how to cook all of Mengrui's favourites" she started smiling again "I want to be a good cook for my husband and mother in law"
