The Blind Marriage

Chapter 21

Shuanghui POV

I took a ride around on my bike after I left Mengrui's house, calming myself down, if I didn't leave I probably would have said something to that girl that I most likely wouldn't have regretted, but I would since it would have probably upset Mengrui, and I just want to take care of him, once I calmed down I drove to Kuanwo's club, and headed inside to the kitchen, the chef that was theirs stared at my wide-eyed, when I pointed my thumb to the door he soon nodded and walked out, I was never on the actual router of work, I just showed up when I wanted to and everyone in the kitchen knew that when I was there I was there and I was cooking, they did not argue It usually leads to them having a bonus pay, apparently news spread fast because the club soon got busy, I cooked almost non-stop for a hours. Kuanwo walked into the kitchen scratching his head in confusion, he looked shocked when he saw me and tilted his head a little "that's why the place suddenly filled up, I thought there was some magic happening in here for some unknown reason well now I know why" he said with a chuckle, a big grin spreading on his face 

I gave Kuanwo a grin, he narrowed his eyes at me like he figured something out and folded his arms, I reached into my pocket to get my phone to see what time it was, only to frown at the emptiness, I searched the rest of my pockets than my jacket and sighed "Kuanwo, can I use your phone, I can't find mine"

He nodded taking his phone from his pocket holding it out to me "you need to stop placing it down everywhere one day you might not get it back" 

I rolled my eyes and walked out the back door with Kuanwo's phone dialling my number, It took a few rings I was just about to hit the send button when I heard a groggy voice down the line "hello?"

I pulled the phone away before putting it back to my ear after making sure it was my number I dialled "Xiao Rui?" I questioned moving away from the club a bit to die the music down so I could hear better, "well I guess that would make sense, I haven't been anywhere else since I last had my phone"

I heard some rustling before his voice again "you?" he said sounding confused "why does it say Kuanwo" he said his voice still sounding sleepy

I chuckle slightly before I talk again "I used Kuanwo's phone Xiao Rui, I called my phone because I didn't know where mine was, I was about to call you actually after I checked the time, but since you answered my phone I can ask what I was going to, have you eaten some more and taken your meds?"

"I ate what you made earlier, and had the medicine" he mumbled quietly, sounding very tired "then I went and lay down and fell asleep I was sleeping till you called and woke me up" he mumbled out more "I'm going back to sleep" he groaned

"wait" I quickly said, biting my lip as I hesitated, I furrowed my eyebrows as I spoke "can I come over... I mean to come and get my phone" I mumbled the last bit

"whatever" I heard a tired mumble, and by how silent it went I guess he must have fallen back to sleep, all I could hear was his gentle breaths

I chuckled softly and pulled the phone away and hung up, I walked back through the door that lead to the kitchen and handed the phone back to Kuanwo after slapping his hand as he picked at the food on the side "don't touch, I'm leaving in an hour, then you can pick at the food because I'm not making it"

He huffed at me "you going home in an hour?" he asked and I shook my head at him as I continued cooking, and putting a pan of water on "where are you going" he asked leaning on the counter

I glanced at him "the twins are at home so I'm going to probably stay at a hotel since you seem busy here and it doesn't look like it's going to calm down anytime soon since more people are still coming in" I said calmly, speaking to Mengrui seemed to calm me down, he sounded tired on the phone but he didn't sound upset anymore which was a good thing Kuanwo nodded and left me to what I was doing

After an hour Kuanwo came back in as I was putting soup into a container and closing the lid I looked at him and smiled "see ya tomorrow Gege" I waved to him as I walked out the door

"Be safe Xiao Li" he called out after me as I left, he had a small smile on his face almost as if he knew something I didn't

After a short 15 minute ride I pulled up outside of Mengrui's house, It was late and all the lights were turned off, I held my hand up to knock on the door before letting it drop deciding best not to as I didn't want to wake up Meirong, "I should have called first" I mumbled before looking up at the upper floor windows, It took me a moment before figuring out which was Mengruis, I took a few of the pebbled on the floor and threw them up one by one, It wasn't long before I heard the soft barking of Xiao Xing, once the barking stopped I threw another pebble and that's when Mengrui face appeared in the window, he looked confused as I leant back against my bike and waved up at him with a smile.

I waited a few minutes before there was a rattling at the front door and it was being swung open "what are you doing here" he mumbled rubbing his eyes, Xing was by his feet and let out a small bark at me and I picked him upholding the tub of soup in my other hand

I couldn't help but laugh a little at his sleepiness "you said whatever, and that doesn't mean no so I came to get my phone I guess" I was sort of using it as an excuse to come and see him, I gave him a soft warm smile

He looked at me still slightly confused and stepped aside for me to walk in "your phone?" he said letting out a yawn, I chuckled stepping into the house

I passed him the soup container shutting the door behind me and put Xing down on the floor "you need to eat more" I said, he stared blankly at the container before walking towards the stairs, I rested my hands on his shoulders and steered him towards the dining table "eat first then you can sleep" I chuckled lightly, he was too tired to even fight to just go to bed, I sat him on the chair and he placed the soup onto the table slowly, I left him at the table and went and got a spoon from the kitchen when I came back Mengrui had his head rested on the table and was back asleep, I chuckled at him, a warm smile spread across my lips as I watched him, I pulled the chair out beside him and gently shook him awake "hey come on eating first then you can sleep" I said softly not to startle him, he seemed helpless when tired "come on it taste better while it's still warm, rather than reheated"

he lazily lifted his head "but I'm not hungry" he mumbled

I grinned at him opening the tub up and helping him sit up "I'm sure you're not, come on eat something then you can sleep" I hummed out as I scoop some soup onto the spoon and held it against his lips.

he slowly opened his mouth and I put the spoon in, the second he swallowed the soup his eyes widened as he sucked in a breath, I grinned as he gritted his teeth and hissed slightly "spicey"

I chuckled, he must have liked it because when I scooped up another spoonful he continued to eat it, I smiled watching him carefully, every time he had a spoonful he would suck in a breath and hiss, his eyes lightly watered up from the spices, I chuckled and had some myself whenever he stopped me so he could fan his mouth from the spiciness, once the tub was empty I took it into the kitchen and washed it up and the spoon, by the time I got back Mengrui was once again asleep "don't sleep here love" I chuckled out helping him up off the seat "come on go to bed" I said softly

"ok, ok I'm going" he mumbled as he slowly made his way up the stairs, I locked up the front door and turned off the lights following after Mengrui

"Xiao Rui, where's my phone," I asked softly as I followed him up the stairs

"in my room" he mumbled, Xing started barking as Mengrui flopped onto his bed, I sighed and picked Xing up putting him on the bed next to Mengrui, Mengrui mumbled and petted Xing "shhh Xing ma is sleeping," he said quietly

I sighed and gave Xing a quick stroke before moving mengrui a little to pull his blanket over him "Xiao Rui I need my phone" I said with a sigh, I seriously needed it, my brothers are going home in the morning and I want to say goodbye

Mengrui mumbled and turned around "somewhere here" not attempting to move, I let out a sigh, "go sleep fine morning"

I frown "Kong Mengrui!" I said quietly slightly irritated, I rubbed my head and frowned "I'll stay here if you don't give me my phone" that usually got a response straight away but this time I got nothing but his even breathing signalling he was asleep I frown slightly at him,  shutting his bedroom door before sitting the other side of his bed, I look up at the ceiling as I lean against the head bored "I'll just wait here then and hope you wake up before my brothers leave" I mumble gently letting out a sigh
