Doctors kit

Two hours later Poppy has finished opening all her presents as is currently dressed like Princess Elsa while she pretends to treat a teddy bear on the sofa with her new doctors kit. Meanwhile, Jack is currently preparing the food for lunchtime as his Dad is coming round for Christmas dinner with them, Nikki, on the other hand, has been left to peel all the carrots and potatoes.
"She loves that Doctor's kit" Jack smiles as he looks into the lounge to make sure she is okay.

"A Doctor in the making" Nikki smiles proudly.
"Or a forensic scientist" Jack smiles as he comes over to Nikki and hugs her from behind.
"Definitely a pathologist... look at her, I don't even think that patient is alive, I swear she removes the heart more than twice just" Nikki laughs.

"She'll either be on our side or a psychopath and will murder many" Jack replies with a smirk.
Nikki laughs and rolls her eyes and she places the potatoes peeler down in the sink and relaxes back into Jack.
"That's my girl" Nikki chuckles.
"Now we shall just place these in pans ready to be cooked later?" Jack suggests and Nikki moves away from him and gets some pans out ready for the cooking.

Nikki smiles and walks over to Jack once he has finished putting the vegetables in the pans, Jack smiles back at Nikki and pulls her into a hug, "how are you feeling?" He mumbles as he kisses her head.

"I'm fine, slightly nauseous but nothing I can't handle... why do you ask?" Nikki smiles resting her hands on his chest as she looks up at Jack.

Jack kisses her nose and smiles, "I thought I should just ask you more often... especially with this wee one" Jack replies resting his hand on her stomach.

She smiles and rests her head against his chest before sighing contently, "If you'd have told me four years ago I would have your child... or even got in bed with you I would have laughed in your face, especially since we're going to be a big family" Nikki says with a smile.

Jack runs his hands up and down her back and kisses her head again, "a big family? Since when?" Jack chuckles.

"Well two children is big right?" Nikki asks.
"Oh Nikki, a big family to me is like five or six kids... do you want a big family?" Jack asks.

"Well I would but the through rod doing through multiple pregnancies and labours... is slightly off putting" Nikki replies.

Jack says no more and continues to cuddle his partner for a little while longer before Poppy comes bounding in to them breaking their silence. "Daddy! Can you play with me?" Poppy smiles cheekily.

Neither of them could say no to Poppy when she was smiling like this, "sure come on kiddo, let's go play" Jack smiles scooping his two-year-old daughter up.
Poppy squeals with delight and wraps her arms around Jack tightly, "don't drop me Daddy!" Poppy squeals as Jack pretends to drop her as he walks into the lounge.

Nikki smiles and rolls her eyes at the two before following them into the lounge, she sits down on the sofa and watches Jack play with Poppy, something Nikki never thought would ever happen, witnessing her own daughter playing with her farther.
"Mummy? Can you play?" Poppy questions as she turns around and grins at Nikki.

"Why? is Daddy boring, baby?" Nikki asks.
"No! Don't be silly... I just want you to play Mummy" Poppy smiles innocently.

Nikki laughs at her daughter and then looks at Jack. "Poppy, let your Mum rest... she's tired" Jack smiles winking at Nikki.
"Why?" Poppy questions cocking her eyebrow and titling her head. For the past three months this had been Poppy's favourite word 'Why'.

Jack and Nikki both look at each other wondering what to tell her, "I didn't sleep well that was all, I had some little munchkin's feet in my face" Nikki smiles causing Poppy to giggle.

"Please play!" She begs.
"Look Poppy, mummy shouldn't really get down on the floor" Jack says noticing Nikki's facial expression change.
"Why?" She asks tilting her head again.
Jack and Nikki once again share a look before Nikki nods at him.
"You see, Mummy has a baby in her belly" Jack smiles trying to keep it as simple for Poppy as possible.

Poppy gasps dramatically and springs to her legs, "we have to get it out! Baby is trapped!" Poppy panics.
Nikki laughs for a second before realising Poppy isn't joking. "Hey baby, look at me... calm down" Nikki says noticing her daughter getting wound up over it. "The baby isn't trapped, your little brother or sister has to grow inside me first, before they can come out and say hello" Nikki explains and Poppy nods before walking over to Nikki and lifting up her top.
"Window?" Poppy questions thinking she would be able to see the baby.

"No darling" Nikki smiles pulling Poppy into a hug. Poppy climbs onto Nikki's lap and lifts her t-shirt, Nikki laughs and looks at her "what an earth are you up to?" She chuckles.

Poppy doesn't reply but keeps looking at Nikki's stomach, Nikki looks at Jack for help as she doesn't know what to say.
Jack gets up onto his knees and shuffled across the floor and then pulls himself up and sits on the sofa. "Are you happy Pops? You're going to have a baby brother or sister?" Jack smiles.

"No!" Poppy replies as she puts Nikki top down.
"Why ever not?" Jack quizzes.
"My Mummy!" Poppy says hugging Nikki tightly. Nikki and Jack share a look before looking back at Poppy who is clinging to her tightly.
