Not too Keen

Jack stands and takes to fast steps and scoops Poppy up into his arms, "Now Pops, we don't run off from adults do we?" Jack says in a stern tone.

"No! No! No!" Poppy cries as she grabs her hair tightly and pulls it in frustration, "Take it back, I don't like it!" She screams kicking her legs against Jack who sits back down with her on his lap.

Jack cradles Poppy in his arms, "Come on Poppy, you've got to be quiet now, babies are trying to sleep."

Nikki sighs and smiles, "Pops, you remember the baby that was in Mummy's tummy?" Nikki asks her daughter while gently rocking Maddison who has stirred with the noise from Poppy. Poppy nods and wipes her eyes before burying her head back into Jack's chest. "Well Poppy darling, this is the baby that was inside Mummy's tummy, you get to play with her and look after her now" Nikki smiles sympathetically.

"How awesome is that Pops?" Jack smiles tickling her tightly, Poppy squirms and wriggles around.
"No, take it back!" She frowns.

"I can't darling, it's not like that. You are her big sister now" Nikki sighs.
Jack looks at Poppy and sighs also, "But Pops when she is older she will be the best friend you've ever had."

Poppy thinks to herself for a moment before shaking her head, "No! Melissa and Amelie are my best friends... not that!" She huffs. 

"Come on darling, why don't you hold her for a wee while then you can decide if you like her?" Jack suggests. He moves Poppy so she can't hide in his chest any longer. 
She huffs and looks across at Maddison in Nikki's arms, "My Mummy!" She shouts. 
"Hey, quiet!" Jack frowns at Poppy attempts to slip off his lap again. "Come on Poppy, you have to share Mummy now, now let's set you on the bed and you can hold Maddison" Jack smiles. 

Poppy gives in and sits on the bed and looks at her Mum, Nikki smiles at Poppy and Jack places a pillow on Poppy's lap before Nikki sets Poppy down on Poppy's lap, "Stay still darling" Nikki smiles. 

Poppy stares at Maddison, "She looks squished!" Poppy giggles as she looks at her little sister, Jack stands behind Nikki who is stud up and holds her waist. He rests his head on Nikki's shoulder and watches Poppy look at her sister. 

"I feel like we're complete" Nikki smiles happily.
Jack chuckles and kisses her shoulder, "Are you sure? I mean you promised me a boy" He smirks. 
"Sorry you will have to just deal with two girls" Nikki smirks while watching Poppy examine her little sister. 
"Not if I get my wicked way, I want a boy... in the future, maybe one more?" He suggests and Nikki shakes her head. 
"Erm... well good luck with that one, when you can get pregnant then we shall have another, I mean Thomas would murder me, imagine his face" She laughs before moving away from Jack and sitting down beside Poppy and Maddison. "So baby girl, do you like her?" She asks as she brushes her hair behind her ear. 

Poppy gives a slight nod before attempting to push Maddison away, Nikki scoops Maddison and holds her. "Daddy I'm thirsty!" Poppy says looking at him, Jack thinks for a moment before looking through Nikki's hospital bag and finds an unopened bottle of water. He opens the bottle and passes it carefully to Poppy. 

Jack smiles as he watches Poppy down half the bottle, "You were a thirsty girl" Jack chuckles as she moves the bottle away from her mouth and breathes deeply to catch her breath. 

"Yes," She grins cheerfully, "Can I see Clarissa and Thomas?" she questions her parents.

Jack and Nikki look at each other for a second before Jack replies to Poppy, "Soon darling, they will probably come round this week to see Maddison" He smiles.

Poppy sighs dramatically and lies down on the bed resting her head against Nikki's thigh."Hey you, don't get falling asleep" Nikki smirks as Poppy lets out a loud yawn. Poppy shakes her head and lies there contently.

Soon the midwife comes to check on Nikki and Maddison and also brings the results from Maddison's echocardiography. "So this must be the famous Poppy I've heard about" Jessica smiles as she leans on the table taking notes. Poppy blushes and buries her head into Nikki's side.

"Don't be shy pops" Nikki chuckles before letting the midwife carry on with her reading of the results.

"So from the echocardiography we took of Maddison earlier we can confirm that all holes have healed up or closed up" Jessica smiles as Andrea comes and joins them around the bed.

"So I've been speaking to the on-duty consultant and he is more than happy to let you go home later this afternoon" Andrea adds which makes Nikki smile as she can't wait to be home and settled with Maddison.
