"No Poppy, No! not in there!... oh shit, seriously Poppy..." Nikki shouts frantically as she watches her three-year-old daughter throw up into the small plastic toy box. Nikki gets up and places Maddison in her jumperoo. Poppy looks up at her Mum as Nikki walks over to her and picks up the box and pulls a face as she sees a few of Poppy's toys swamped in vomit.

"I'm sorry Mummy" Poppy cries suddenly as she realizes she should have been sick in the bucket which has been left by the sofa for her.
"Don't worry about it now Poppy" Nikki sighs as she walks into the kitchen where Jack is sat at the table doing work.

He looks over his shoulder at her as she throws the box into the sink, "What was the commotion?" Jack asks his lover as she starts to run the taps.
"Your bloody daughter... has just been sick in the toy box... oh I also noticed that she has some spots on her back... I'm going to call the GP and see if I can get her in today, I think it's either a viral or she's getting chickenpox" Nikki speaks as she starts sorting out the box Poppy has just been sick in.

Poppy soon walks into the kitchen and looks at her parents, "Mummy? Daddy?" Poppy mumbles as she looks down at the floor.
"Yes, sweetie?" Nikki speaks softly as she turns.
"I itchy!" She sighs as she finds herself itching her stomach through her top.

Jack gets up from the kitchen table and picks Poppy up before setting her down on the kitchen table and lifting her top, "Nik" Jack speaks and Nikki walks over to them and notices the many spots which have formed on her stomach.

Nikki gently pulls Poppy's top off and looks at her back which is also covered in little red spots, "Oh baby, try not to itch them... Mummy will get a Doctor to have a look" She speaks softly as she kisses Poppy's head.

"But Mummy you are a doctor?" Poppy questions curiously.
"I know I am sweetie but not that type" Nikki chuckles as Jack pulls Poppy's top back on and allows her to get back down on the floor.

Later on that day Nikki has just come out of a doctor's appointment with Poppy who has been diagnosed with chickenpox. Nikki holds Poppy's hand as she takes her into the chemist so she can collect the prescription which has been prescribed for Poppy to help soothe the itching.

Once Nikki has handed over the prescription she takes a seat on one of the chairs that are situated near the counter, She pulls Poppy onto her lap and allows her to cuddle up to her, "Not long now sweetheart" Nikki mumbles against Poppy's head as she gently rocks her side to side.

An elderly woman comes and sits beside Nikki and Nikki moves her own handbag out of the way, as Nikki moves Poppy whines to her as she feels really unwell, "Sorry baby," Nikki sighs as she kisses Poppy's head again before feeling her forehead to check how warm she is.

"Poor mite, is she okay?" the old woman smiles.
Nikki looks at the elderly woman with a smile, "No, she's not very well" Nikki sighs as she continues to rock Poppy side to side like a baby.
"Hope she gets well soon, nothing like a mother's comfort for a young child" she smiles at Nikki who keeps looking down at Poppy.

Poppy moves and cuddles into Nikki more, "Mummy can we go home?" She asks as she starts to itch her arm again but Nikki gently grabs her arm and stops her.

"Soon sweetie, we need to get your medicine so you feel better and you don't pass it onto Maddison" Nikki smiles.

Nikki sits there for a while longer before Poppy's name is called for her to collect the medication "Poppy Alexander-Hodgson, please", she stands Poppy up and then takes hold of her hand and walks with her to the counter before taking the medication from the pharmacist.

"Mummy, up... I feel tired!" Poppy whines as she holds her arms up to Nikki.
Nikki sighs and scoops her up against her hip, "You're getting too heavy for the darling" Nikki sighs as she looks over at the elderly woman she briefly spoke to and smiles happily at her before leaving the chemist and heading to the car park to get Poppy in the car.
