I yawned in exhaustion as I kept my eyes on the spit white lines that reflected my headlights the highway seemed like it would never end as I drove out of the city into my shitty little secluded town, my car being the only car out at this late in the night.

It had been nearly two hours since I left the stadium, I knew Billie had told me to call her to keep me awake but I knew the day she had must of been exhausting, I couldn't build up the courage to dial her number.

My brothers car was pulled into our driveway barley past 5am I knew he was going to be pissed once I walked into the house I was scared to face him if I'm being honest, but he was also the one to force me out of the house today so he couldn't be that mad.. right?

After letting out a few short breaths my heart thumping louder and louder out of anxiety the kind that made my hands shake for no reason at all, my hormones were over dramatic to say the least I hated the fact that I was always so nervous, it's like the feeling you get when you know something bad is about to happen, it's that panicked feeling in your stomach except I felt it nearly every second of every day.

I had medication for it but I'd rather be jittery than robotic.

"Finley!" "What the fuck!??" My brothers voice boomed causing my shoulders to jump a breath passing my lips in surprise, he squinted his eyes at the headlights shining into the driveway his pale cheeks fuming red out of anger "Alex I'm sorry I just, I didn't think it would take me so long-"

"Just get out I have to go." He sighed as my heart raced quickly nodding my head before grabbing my phone from the passenger seat my eyes catching glimpses of something shiny nearly stuffed into the cushion of the seat.

"Finleyyy I'm serious." He whined practically jumping on his feet like a toddler to rush me out of the drivers seat, I sighed digging for the shiny silver that was stuffed in the seat and practically falling out of the car as he rushed me out a huff passing my lips once he pushed me out of the way "Jesus I'm going" I sighed raising my hands in surrender my hand still clasped around the silver in my hand.

"Be careful!" I called out with a wave sighing once he disappeared out of the driveway, my shoes scuffed across the rocks leading to my front door, my body shivered at the cold breeze blowing past me making it harder to clasp my hand around the cold nob of my front door.

Once successfully making it inside my house I shut the door behind me and was instantly met with the familiarity of how quiet and lonely its always been an overwhelming sadness coming over me as I made my way back to my bedroom already feeling the itch of wanting to curl back into my little ball and hide away from existence.

The empty feeling only got bigger stepping into my small bedroom the light flickering on with a flip of the switch letting a deep breath exhale from my lungs, the air in my room wasn't any better than outside, it felt cold and eerie similar to a feeling you'd get watching a thrilling movie the silence consumed me with built up fear despite nothing being there to be afraid about.

I twirled the silver that I dug from the passenger seat of my brothers car the ring now sparkling brighter than before at first glance, only now had I realized the shape of the ring formed into a nail with three little diamonds around the top of it, it looked expensive and I knew it couldn't be anything close to something my brother would own, it had to be Billie's her fingers were lined with rings from what I remember it couldn't be that hard to misplace one.

My breathing caught in my throat at the ding of my phone that broke the silence making my shoulders jump slight, I squinted at the bright screen that lit up as I lifted it the notification displaying itself on top of the family picture set as my lock screen.

I instantly smiled at the sweet text a warm feeling filling my chest at the bubbled sentence.

thanks I just made it home im exhausted

My nerves began to rise just simply texting her, it felt weird knowing how known she was to the world and the fact that I wasn't known at all.

get some sleep mamas you need it and don't forget about me! im still in your contacts let's keep it that way text me tomorrow and ill try to answer when i can <3

I instantly smiled down at my phone biting down on my lip to contain the ear to ear grin that seems to continue to get bigger, was this my first new friend?

Maybe I'm thinking to much, she was just trying to be nice.. right? I'm delusional why would she want to be my friend in the first place.

also, i think you accidentally dropped one of your rings in my car, should i send it to you?

With that I switched off my phone letting out another sigh before plopping down on my bed the instant exhaustion coming over me like a wave, it wasn't long until I fell back onto my comfy safe haven and feel asleep into a deep slumber.
