CHAPTER 58

CHRIS' POV

Months have passed. Nasintensyahan si Dion sa kasong embezzlement at defamation. Patong patong na grounds at ebidensya ang magdidiin sa kanya.

Binigyan ko na sya ng pagkakataon noon pero sinayang niya yon.

Mabuti hindi nya dinamay rito si Eisen. Dahil aabot kami hanggang impyerno pag ginawa niya iyon.

Eisen is now enrolled in a special learning institution para sa mga gifted na bata.

He is too smart for his age.

I took a sip from my coffee habang pinagmamasdan ang view rito sa terrace namin.

I sat down on the couch as my eyes is still fixed on the view.

It's only 5:30am. Hindi pa sumisikat ang araw. My son and wife are still sleeping.

I rested my head at the couch when I felt Ilia's hand snake around my chest gently.

"Good Morning, Mr. Santidad." Malambing niyang bulong sa tenga ko sabay halik saking pisngi. I pat the side of the couch, gesturing her to seat beside me, so she did.

Abot tenga agad ang ngiti ko na makita sya.

She leaned on my shoulder as we wait for the sun to rise. Hawak hawak ko ang malambot niyang kamay.

What else can I ask for?

"Gusto mo sabay tayo maligo?" Bulong niya.

I laughed hard. "Sure." I kissed her forehead.

"Hay nagbago na isip ko." She huffed. Kumunot ang noo ko bigla and she laughed at my reactions.

"Tinatamad pa kasi ako."

"Edi ako na magpapaligo sayo."I teased. She let out another laugh.

"Alam mo ba lately, parang pagod na pagod ako. Kailangan ko na sigurong mag exercise." Daing niya. "Hirap na hirap nga kong bumangon, kung hindi lang kita nakitang andito sa terrace, hindi ako tatayo."

"May sakit ka ba? Ano bang nararamdaman mo?" Nag aalala kong tanong as I reach to feel her forehead.

"Normal naman ang temperatura mo." Ani ko.

"Wala naman, tinatamad lang ako, baka antok lang to." She said.

"Here, have some of my coffee." Alok ko. Pero bago niya pa makuha ang cup ay naduwal siya.

She covered her mouth and ran to the bathroom.

Nananakbo rin akong sinundan sya.

She knelt on the bowl with a straining effort to vomit.

Nag aalalang hinagod hagod ko ang likod niya.

"Are you okay??"

She only gave me a nod. Matapos ay nagmumog siya. I can see how weak she became so I carried her back to bed.

"Ilia,umidlip ka muna. Mamaya pupunta tayo kay Khen. You're making me so worried."

"Wala to. Baka acid reflux lang."

"No. Pupunta tayo kay Khen mamaya."

"Hmm. Sige na nga."

CHRIS' POV

"Chris..." Khen approached me. Wala ako sa sariling paroon at parito sa hallway ng ospital. I am dead worried.

"Khen how's my wife?" I asked hastily.

"Man, hindi ako ang... Dapat magsabi nito sayo. I think I should let your wife tell you."

"W-Why? Is there something wrong? Isn't this just vertigo???"

Yumuko si Khen at umiling ng dahan-dahan. Para akong dinibdiban sa reaksyon niyang iyon.

"Kumalma ka muna Chris. Make sure you're ready when..."

"No!" Angil ko sa pinsan ko. "Bakit kailangan pa natin'g magpaliguy-ligoy? Tell me. What's wrong?"

"Calm down and talk to your wife."

Mabilis akong nagmartsa papunta sa kwarto ni Ilia. Khen was following me, too.

Hindi ko kakayanin kung may masamang mangyayari sa asawa ko. Fuck. We've been through so much.

Ngayon pa lang kami nagiging masaya.

I tilted the knob and pushed the door when-

"CONGRATULATIONS!!!!" Shouted everyone sabay pagsabog ng confetti sa ere.

What is this? Why is everybody here?

I looked around there's Andy and my cousins Lance, Emily, Marcus standing around Ilia's hospital bed.

"W-What..." I was looking at my wife to find the answer.

"Chris, we're having our second baby." Nangingiting sabi ni Ilia.

My hand flew to my face to cover the tears that's jerking. "Oh God."

"Aaaaw." They exclaimed in unison and then laughed.

"Tarantado ka Khen pinakaba mo ko!"

Lumagapak na naman sila ng tawa, maging ang asawa ko ay tawang-tawa.

"Ilia that's not funny okay! Akala ko kung ano nang nangyari!"

Natatawa pa rin syang inilahad ang mga braso niya sa akin.

Para naman akong nahipnotismo sa gesture na yon. I walked to her and embraced her tightly.

"Magkaka second baby na tayo, Daddy." She whispered.

It sank in even more to me...

It's true, we're having our second child. And this time mababantayan ko ang paglaki ng anak namin sa sinapupunan ni Ilia.

Nagtuloy tuloy na ang luha ko sa tuwa.

Kumalas ako sa pagkakayakap sakanya. I cupped her face and kissed her.

"I love you so much."

She wiped my tears and put my hand on her stomach.

"Me, Eisen and our new baby...

Love you too so much." She smiled.

This woman right here is my world.
