Chapter Eighty-Seven

Katniss POV- (Two weeks later)

Today is the day that Peeta and I decided to go visit Finnick and Annie at their new home in District Four, before we head to District Five for college.

Peeta finally talked me into it, but it took a lot.

I have semi-recovered from my sister's death and some days are better than others.

I still miss her like crazy, suffer from the occasional nightmare-filled nights and I still have days that it's hard to even get out of bed but Peeta helps me.

For the most part, everything is finally starting to be good again.

"Hey, you almost ready?" Peeta asks, coming into our bedroom.

"Yeah, I was just grabbing my bags. I'll meet you in the car." I tell him.

He nods "I'll take your stuff."

I allow him to take my bag and then I take my time getting down to the car.

I close my eyes and lean up against the wall of our bedroom, just taking a moment for myself.

I hope this trip is good and helps us both.

Peeta and I really need a vacation and time to get out of the house and time to catch up with Finnick and Annie.

Make some new memories.

A few minutes later, I meet Peeta in the car and we are finally ready to begin the first real road-trip we've ever taken alone.

I text Annie and let her know we are leaving.

She replies with an 'okay' and Finnick texts me a few minutes later.

(Texts from Finnick)

"Tell my Peetie-Pie that I can't wait to see him."

I snort, "Finnick put, 'Tell my Peetie-Pie that I can't wait to see him.' I read.

Peeta laughs a little, shaking his head and a few seconds later another text comes in.

"Oh and by the way, I can't wait to see you either, Kat." Finnick says.

I smile a little and roll my eyes.
