This was it. I was ending it. My father found out I liked boys. Life was over for me.
He gave me three hours to get out.
His exact words being, "Dallas, if you are not out of this house by nightfall, you're dead."
I could not see why he was so pissed. He never cared about me anyway.
I only packed a backpack full of stuff, it's not like I owned much anyway. Just a couple pairs of jeans, briefs, T-shirts and my sheepskin jacket.
I was out of that bastards house an hour early. I started walking down the sidewalk, wondering where to go. The Curtis household came to mind first, but Darry and I had gotten into an argument recently. Two-Bit and Steve didn't have room for me at their houses either, and Johnny was in the same place I was. Stuck with no where to go.
The night grew colder as the sun went down and I started to shiver. Suddenly, as if things couldn't get any worse, it started to rain. Hard. Big, cold drops that instantly soaked through my clothes and backpack.
I took off running, with no place in mind. I could hardly see in front of me, and on the slick pavement I slammed right into somebody coming from the opposite direction.
I heard the breath leave the other person as they hit the hard ground.
"Hey man watch it!" I spat, still shivering.
"Ah s-sorry," a quiet voice mumbled from the darkness.
"Johnny?" I cried, relieved. "What the hell are you doing out here in the rain, you're gonna get sick."
"I-I got kicked out of my house," he mumbled even quieter. "My dad found out I was gay. Told me he'd skin my hide if I didn't leave right now. What about you?"
I was the only one that knew Johnny was gay, but I couldn't tell him I got kicked out for the same reason.
"I just couldn't deal with my dad anymore. He's a pathetic, lying, no good, dead beat bastard," I growled angrily.
"Well it looks like we're both way over our heads in the unlucky spectrum. Lets blow this town," Johnny said, and even in the darkness I could tell he was grinning his crazy grin.
     "Let's."

We ended up talking the 3:15 train to Windrixville. Illegally of course. When we arrived, after jumping off the train and Johnny squealing like a little girl, we decided to head up to a big old abandoned church on a steep hill.
After the two mile hike, Johnny and I flopped down on the cold stone floor, instantly falling asleep curled up next to each other.
I woke up before Johnny, and realized that we needed supplies. I checked my bag and realized I had a twenty. That was more than enough.
Before I left I scribbled a note to Johnny in the dust on the table.
Johnnycakes, I'm goin to get some suplies, be back soon. Dal.
I signed a small heart at the end of my name, blushing slightly.

In town I bought a loaf of bread, bologna, cards, and cigarettes, of course. When I returned, I noticed Johnny was still asleep.
He was so cute, he looked almost like a girl. Nobody could blame me for having a crush on him-
I stopped that thought right there, blushing furiously. It was true, whether I wanted to admit it or not.
I started unpacking when I saw Johnny start moving around in his sleep just in case he woke up, although after I accidentally dropped the cards on the floor and they echoed like a gunshot, he was very awake.
"S-sorry!" I immediately apologized. "I was trying to-to-" holy shit why did I have to get so tongue tied around him.
"It's ok," he said, yawning and standing up. He walked over to me and suddenly wrapped his arms around me. "And I'm sorry you got kicked out for no reason."
"Actually," I whispered. "There was a reason..."
Johnny didn't loosen his arms any, but he did look up at me.
"My dad... he found out I was gay." My voice broke and next thing I knew we were both on the floor, me sobbing into Johnny's shoulder and him running his fingers through my hair.
"Shh shh, I know it's hard. But it will all be better soon, I promise," Johnny continuously told me, wrapping his arms around me. Eventually I calmed down, and Johnny let me rest my head on his lap.
My eyes were heavy, but I didn't want to go to sleep yet.
     "Hey Johnny?"
      "Mhm?"
"Can I tell you something?" I asked quietly, biting my bottom lip.
"Of course, you can tell me anything, you're my best friend," he said, and I winced at his choice of words.
    "Never mind," I told him.
"No, tell meeee," he said, and I could hear the curiosity behind his words.
"Nothing." I said harsher than I meant to.
I could feel Johnny recoil at my tone, and instantly regretted snapping at him. "Ok," he breathed. "Sorry."
"No. Don't apologize, honey, that was me," I told him. "I didn't me to snap."
"It's ok." I could feel him shrugging his shoulders. "My dad does it all the time. At least you don't hit me."
He laughed a little, but I felt him tense slightly, waiting for my response.
I responded by stretching my legs out, then grabbing Johnny and placing him to where he straddled my legs, chest to chest. He blushed crimson.
"I would never hurt you," I told him, looking into his dark ebony eyes. "And I won't let anybody else from this moment on. I swear you you."
He smiled, tears welling up in his eyes. "Thanks man. That-that really means a lot to me." He buried his face in the crook of my neck, and wrapped his arms around my waist.
We sat there for a while, and I ran my fingers through his soft black hair, curling it around my finger.
When I finally thought he was asleep, I told him what I was going to say earlier. "I love you Johnny."
I rested my head against Johnny's, wrapping my hands around his lower back.
"I love you too..." Johnny whispered barely audible.
Then we kissed, in the house of god himself. That was the moment I knew as long as I had Johnny, I had the world.
