I watched Johnny crumple to the ground as if in slow motion.
"Oh shit!" Two-Bit and I both muttered at the same time.
I scrambled from my seat, kneeling down by Johnny, while Two-Bit went to pay.
I placed my hand on Johnny's cheek. "Can you hear me honey?" I asked, and his eyes fluttered.
     "Hmm?" He moaned.
"I need you to open your eyes, honey," I demanded.
After a moment, his eyes weakly fluttered open.
I stood up, then reached down and grabbed Johnny's hands, pulling him up. He swayed on the spot, and I placed my hand on his shoulder to steady him.
Once Two-Bit came back, we headed out the back door, mainly so that nobody would see Johnny like this. Johnny continuously stumbled from the restaurant and to the sidewalk.
Two-Bit helped me get Johnny to my house, but left quickly after, which struck me as odd, but I didn't speak about it. I sat Johnny down on my couch, brushing his dark hair out of his eyes, which had closed again.
He looked so peaceful like that, and I paused for a moment, just brushing my fingers through his hair. I snapped out of it and walked into the kitchen, grabbing an applesauce from my fridge.
Johnny had squirmed himself into a laying position on my couch, and I gently shook his shoulder. His eyes fluttered, but he didn't wake up. I shook him harder, becoming nervous.
"Johnny?!"
After a moment of shaking him, I finally got him to respond.
"Mhm?" He whimpered.
I breathed a sigh of relief. "Honey, I need you to sit up, please."
He slowly sat himself up, his eyes unfocused. "Why?"
I pushed the applesauce in his hands. "You need to eat this."
"Dal, I'm not hungry," he breathed in a shaky voice.
"Jonathan, I'm not taking your bull shit today. I will force that applesauce down your throat if I have to."
I was almost positive he was going to make another innuendo, like at the DQ, but he stayed silent, and picked up the spoon I gave him.
After he ate about half of it, he piped up. "A-are you mad at me?" He whispered.
I was taken aback by his question. "Of course not baby," I reassured him instantly. "Why would I be?"
He shrugged his shoulders, taking another bite of his applesauce. "Because I passed out..." he sniffled.
I instantly wrapped my arms around him. "Shh shh, don't cry baby." I held him to my chest, running my fingers through his hair.
He curled into my body, sitting his applesauce on the end table. I held him for an hour, just letting him cry into my chest. Finally, his eyes were tear free.
His eyes were droopy, and he laid his head on my shoulder. "I'm sorry," he breathed.
"Don't be. There's nothing to be Sorry about, love," I said to him.
He yawned, wrapping his arms around me and holding me tight. "You're an amazing friend," he murmured softly.
"So are you," I whispered back. "I think you might need to go to bed now though."
He considered it, then nodded in agreement. "Fine," he sighed.
I stood up from the couch, holding out my hand to Johnny. He took it, and I led the way to my room.
I threw him a shirt and sweats to sleep in, then turned around to face my closet so he could change.
"Do you want me to sleep on the floor?" He asked.
"No!" I answered immediately. "I'll sleep on the floor."
He rolled his eyes. "I'm not kicking you out of your own bed," he told me, crossing his arms.
"We can share a bed Johnny," I said matter-of-factly.
"Oh... Yeah- I mean we could. I-if that's ok with you?" He stuttered.
I smiled softly at him. "It's perfect with me."
He relaxed quickly, sitting on the edge of my bed. I grabbed my own set of clothes, changing right where I was. When I turned back around, I noticed Johnny blushing deeply, and u smirked.
"You ready for bed?" I asked him, walking to my side of the bed.
He nodded his head yes, yawning.
We both curled up under the blankets, snuggling up to one another.
"Night Jonny."
G'night Dal-"
Johnny fell into a deep sleep quickly, but I stayed awake. I smiled at how beautiful Johnny was, how his dark, ebony hair curled and fell into his eyes, how his lips pouted perfectly in his sleep, how soft and gentle his breathing was.
Of course, I understood these were not normal thoughts for me to be having for my best friend, but there was just no denying how much I lo- liked him. If only he felt the same way towards me I thought.
I ran my thumb across Johnny's cheek, and he stirred a bit. I stopped moving, but left my hand were it was. After a moment passed, I leaned in towards Johnny, and pressed my lips to his forehead. He was still this time, and I snuggled up beside him, finally closing my eyes.
