I got this idea from somebody on Snapchat so shoutout to them. Sorry I don't have their @. This is also a bit of a train wreck because I'm very sleep deprived so I'm sorry.
"Hey uhh, Ponyboy, what's up with that new kid at school?" I asked the younger boy.
"Oh, you mean Johnny," he said, disgust oozing in his tone.
"Yeah I guess. He's pretty quiet for a greaser ain't he?" I questioned.
Ponyboy nodded in agreement. "Not much of a greaser from what I heard..."
Tea time. "What have you heard?" I pressed on, wondering what the quiet kid had done.
"Well from what I heard he's been saying he's the tuffest kid in town, so if that isn't total bigheadedness, I don't know what is. But get this, I heard the real reason he left his old school, is because he got a girl pregnant."
My mouth dropped open. "Are you serious? What a dick move. You can't just get dirty with a girl and then drop her. You should realize the consequences," I said angrily.
Pony nodded along in agreement. "Yeah, like who even does that?"
*time skip to school
"What it!" I snarled as somebody slammed into my back, knocking my books to the ground, and nearly myself.
"S-Sorry," the quietest voice I'd ever heard said from the floor.
I looked down, then curled my lips in disgust as I saw the tan boy with greasy black hair.
"Oh. It's you," I said in a disgusted tone.
He stared at the ground. "Why does everybody here hate me?" He whispered up to me quietly.
"What do you mean 'why does everybody hate you'?" I snapped. "You walked out on the girl you got pregnant!"
"What are you talking about?!" He cried, still looking at the ground.
I heard footsteps coming up from behind me and spun on my heel. Tim and Curly Shepard stood there intimidatingly in front of Johnny.
"You know damn well what Dal is talking about, dumbass. You got a girl pregnant, and then you came running here to get out of the responsibilities of being a father!" Tim yelled.
Johnny flinched back at Tim's sharp voice. "W-What? What girl?" He whimpered.
"Wow, you're real thick ain't ya?" Curly butted in.
I could tell Johnny was more than confused. "There was never any girl..." he paused and bit his lip. "I'm gay."
The four of us sat in a stunned silence, before Curly started cackling. "I should have known. I should have fucking known. You're way too ugly to get a girl."
"Fucking forget that, wait till the rest of the gang hears," Tim laughed harshly, before glaring down at Johnny.
"Stay the fuck out of our way, faggot," he hissed at Johnny, before kicking him hard in the ribs.
Johnny let out a mix between a whimper and a sob. I instantly pitted the kid.
"Listen Johnny-"
"Just shut up," he screamed, pushing his hair back with his hands. "Please."
He hopped up and ran off into the bathroom. Swallowing my pride, I followed him.
I knocked on the stall that sobs were coming from. "Kid listen, just open the door."
"N-no," he sniffled from the other side.
"Johnny, I'm sorry, ok? I've never told anybody that I was sorry about something, but now I really am. I shouldn't have assumed anything, and I'm sorry I didn't ask you about the rumors first."
Johnny's sniffled soon subsided, and I heard the click of the bathroom stall opening. To my great surprise, he ran into my arms, hugging me.
I awkwardly patted his back. "Hey, Hey, no mushy stuff."
"Sorry," he whispered, immediately loosening his arms from around me and wiping his eyes.
He looked up at me and we finally made eye contact. The world stood still.
It was like I was able to look into his soul and right to his heart. Then everything in my vision went white.
"Oh, fuck," I hissed in pain, trying to blink back into focus.
I looked up at Johnny. He sat on the floor with his eyes squeezed shut and his hands tangled in his hair.
"Hey kid," I panted. "It's ok now."
"No. It's not," he barely breathed.
"What? Why?" I asked him.
"D-do you know what that means?" He questioned me.
"No?"
"Dal... we're soul mates."
My mouth popped open. "Oh, umm ok..." I said, trying not to freak out. Of course I had heard stories of people finding their soulmate like this, but that was all fake. Or so I thought.
"Well, Johnny. It looks like we're gonna be spending the rest of our life together, so why not blow this popsicle stand and go grab a bite? Maybe get to know each other better?"
He looked at the floor, blushing deeply, then up at me and nodded. "I'd like that Dal."
I smiled down at him, and offered him my hand. "Call me Dally."
He grinned. "Ok. Thanks Dally." He took my hand and I pulled him to his feet.
I cupped his face in my hands, staring into his almost-black eyes. I felt his skin warm up under my touch.
He pushed up on his toes and placed his lips softly against mine. His lips were smooth as honey, and tasted like cherries.
Sadly, I had to break away first. "Kid, let's save this for later, ok?"
He nodded, blushing harder then before. "O-okay."
I grabbed his hand, leading him out of the bathroom. "Let's run by the Dairy Queen, then we'll head to my place and pick up where we left off." I winked at Johnny, who just blushed and nodded.
"Damn you're hot," I whispered in his ear as we stepped out into the bright sunlight.
