THIS IS GOING TO BE A SHITTY CHAPTER SORRY! I'M STRUGGLING!

"I-I can't believe you're g-going," Johnny sniffled, and I could see tears forming in his eyes.
"It's just for a year... I'll be back before you know I'm gone." I couldn't bear to look him in the eye, knowing that I would start crying too.
"You could die," he squeaked, and then he broke down. I went to wrap my arms around him, but he slipped away from me.
"I need some air," he told me, scrambling up from his chair and briskly walking out the back door.
     I looked up at the ceiling, my eyes watering badly, but I blinked the tears welling up in my eyes.
     I sat down where Johnny had previously sat, lacing up my camouflage boots. Sighing, I stood back up, and went to find Johnny.
     He wasn't hard to find, he was sitting in my back yard silently sobbing, pulling up grass with his fingers.
     I sat down beside him. "You ok?" I asked gently.
     He shook his head. "I-it's just... when I was little, and my- and my mom and dad were still h-happy... dad, he got drafted to the army. When he came back... that's when the beatings started happening. I-I just don't want the same thing happening to you..."
     I was completely shocked. I knew his dad beat him, but I never knew why.
     "Johnny," I said strangled. "I'm so sorry baby."
     He sniffled, shrugging his shoulders. "It's not your fault Dal."
"I promise nothing like that will happen," I told him sincerely, wrapping my arm around him.
He leaned into me, but wouldn't meet my eyes. Johnny picked a plant from the ground and handed it to me.
   "Here. You need this for good luck..."
     I smiled down at the four leaf clover. "Thank you baby. I've got to go now. I'll see you soon, love."
     He nodded, tears starting to leak from his eyes again.

1 year later

     I got off my plane and headed into the airport. I was barely three steps through the arrival gate before somebody was in my arms.
     "Dal..."
     "Oh my god Johnny! I've missed you so much," I said, holding him tight.
     He started crying and so did I.
     "I love you I love you I love you I love you-"
     I silenced him with a kiss. "I love you too. And I'm not leaving you ever again," I promised him.
