this is a poem about nothing

Have you ever been trapped?
Spinning in an inevitable
But somehow pointless
Orbit
With no destination.
Not knowing why the stars
Flash their shiny teeth
At you
When the sky goes dark.
All that inky blue,
Punctuated by galaxies and
Planets
And stars.
So many stars,
Winking at you here on the ground.
They seem like much better
Company.
So maybe I'll take my place in the
Sky, in
All the nothingness in the
space between the stars.
Because nothing
Is part of something too,
Shining in the
Black void of existence
Something is waiting for me.
