The land between
Sleep and
Consciousness
Is a rather desolate place,
Devoid of dream but
Treading the water of subconscious
Musings.
Saccharine harmonies saturate
The void of awareness,
where fears and wishes
Intertwine in a rather
Enthralling dance macabre.
This is the place in which
Love and lust melt into each other,
Dread and guilt drown you,
Hope and loss envelop you,
Pulling you beneath waves that
Don't feel like much at all
But for the realization of indefinite reality
The land between
Sleep and
Consciousness
Is a rather colorful place
Unassuming, but lucid
Treading water until stirred once again by
the impossible knife of necessity
