Daddy, daddy
All those years
Missing from your family
while
Standing in the center of the living room
With nothing behind your eyesFather, Stranger
All those hours
Screaming into the night
For a daughter you can never have,
Never love.
You cannot touch her anymoreBecause the peonies you stepped on
Bloomed into roses
During their rebirth in the spring.
But roses have thorns
And you, you only tore the gash
Further open.
When the petals heal they will lock you out
Forever
