I waited nervously by the gate. Our flight would be boarding in minutes and she was no where to be seen. I'd kept my mouth shut about her, not mentioning a word to my friends about her joining us. And as the seconds passed I felt more and more sick. What if she didn't show? What after all this she decided she couldn't be with me?
'Alright dude?' Kyle asked me, noticing my twitching hands playing with my phone.
'Yeah.' I muttered. 'Just a bit anxious about the flight.' I lied. I knew he could see through me. Besides Lily, he was the only other person in the world who could read me. But he didn't have chance to question me as an announcement came over the speaker system.
'Flight VA34 to San Francisco is now boarding passengers in first class and premium economy at gate 98. Please have your boarding cards and passports open and ready for inspection as you board.'
