Just when I thought I'd moved on, she comes crashing back into my life. I should've known. I should've been prepared for this. We worked in the same industry, for the same company, of course we were going to see each other. But the look on her face when she saw that baby and I explained she wasn't mine, almost like she was as devastated as I had been.
I checked with Dick when our next clash with Ed would be and wasn't surprised that it was in Budapest. Was this how it was always going to be? Awkward hellos and avoiding each other? I somewhat preferred the total ignoring.
