Kirishima some up to the smell of food cooking. He could hear the familiar hum Bakugou made whenever he cooked. He used to think that it was adorable and would even join in sometimes, he had memorized the time long ago, but lately Bakugou had been so aggressive. He had changed so much in the course of a week.
Ever since that villain attack, he wouldn't look Kirishima in the face, and when he did he looked so angry. He had changed into someone Kirishima wasn't sure he wanted to know. That hum, now it just seemed to haunt him, telling him about the amazing person he'd lost and the fact that he didn't even know why.
If it was him, then of course Kirishima would understand. If there was an obvious reason then he could help Bakugou through it but there wasn't. Kiri hadn't done anything different from what he normally did and nothing else new had happened.
That villain attack wasn't exactly the first time they'd been overcome. There had been countless times before when the five of them, Sero, Mina, Denki, Bakugou and him, had been saved by other heroes and plenty of times that they had been forced to let villains to for whatever reason.
Maybe it was because Todoroki was involved? But that wasn't that new either. It had been more than five years since Todoroki turned villain and her beaten Bakugou easily then as well, Bakugou had numerous scars to prove that.
"Hey, Shitty hair, you want anything?" Bakugou called from the kitchen.
His voice was gruff, more so than normal. It only reminded Kiri more that Bakugou, the Bakugou he loved, had gone and for no reason as well. He pulled himself up off the couch and looked over at the kitchen.
The pieces of chair had been pushed to the side and the room and the windows were covered by boards of wood. Bakugou stood at the stove, cooking something, scrambled egg judging by the smell.
The blond hero glanced over at Kirishima. Even now, his eyes seemed so full of anger, ready to burst out at any moment. He handed Kirishima a plate of food and walked away without a word.
Kirishima brought his hand up to the gash on his head, stitched together. He stumbled into the bathroom to have a look at himself.
The cut went from the corner of his eye to the top of his head and a small one lead from his dad to the corner of his mouth. Small scratches and cuts covered his face and arms, from where her held them up to protect himself. Bruises also littered his body.
Looking at himself, it seemed unreal. Of course her been hurt before, but usually his quirk could manage it and protect most of him. This time his quirk hadn't been enough. Bakugou had been continuously throwing things at him, chairs, tables, even the microwave, at him for more than an hour.
Kirishima was surprised he got away with only the cuts and bruises he had.
He ignored the plate of food Bakugou had made him and went upstairs, texting Mina as he lacked up some of his stuff. He walked down stair again, carrying his bags.
"Mina will be here to pick me up in a minute. I'll get the rest of my stuff later."
